Valieva's defense was claiming that the medicine entered her system because she shared a glass of water with her grandfather. I mean it is a total bullshit and intelligence-insulting, but interestingly it's the kind of story where Valieva has to be a key witness. So she lied.

 

But I guess Valieva being a 15-year old girl only matters when they are about to take her toys?

 

By the way, the WADA claims that the RUSADA did not mark Valieva's sample as priority, which is a standard practice when an athlete is getting ready to go to a big event. This could explain why the sample took so long to test. But then again, this is also one piece of information that is getting largely left out of the speculations, because it does seem like the truth is of low importance here.
