Is Lesotho the only country without any resident in the Tokyo olympic village ? I see their whole team is marathon runners so I assume they will stay in Sapporor with just attending the opening ceremony in Tokyo

From left: Patrik Jány (Rifle Shooting events), Denisa Baránková (Archery, our youngest athlete in Tokyo)

Lukáš Klein and Filip Polášek (Tennis Doubles)

the 5th Norbert Gombos (Tennis singles) joined the them in Vienna at the airport where he landed from Sweden, where he played the Bastad tournament in  which he lost in yesterday quarterfinal.

Athletes who travelled yesterday also already arrived in Japan and are already in the Olympic Village. only track & field athletes moved to the special training camp in Urayasu.

Looks like a friendly bunch. That would make a nice party if there wasn't covid.

I am unashamed, at getting nothing done.

There should be a thread for which nations are sharing with each other.

Ireland is sharing with :SWE and :FIN and it is directly across from the dining hall :d

    • It's hard to believe it was still in this calendar year
    • In last year, we were were happy with Brignone's wins, and today we're excite that della Mea is in the top 10... It's hard to imagine a bigger fall... And Goggia should give up on the giant slalom and focus on the speed events – Vonn isn't wasting time on the giant slalom, but is training for downhill and SG. Goggia last one finished on the podium in the giant slalom in march 2018, and she has no any chance of winning an Olympic medal at the regular competition. It's a waste of time and energy to finish 8th or 9th and risk injury. And we have to accept that without Brignone, we have no chance of winning a medal in the giant slalom in Cortina, and that's it.
    • yeah, just like Anna Trocker earlier Today   I think this is the best way to blow them    they're not ready for the world cup stage yet, but we're so bad right now that our coaches are digging deep
    • Some surprises and fun results so far at this year's Worlds. Like a few minutes ago, when  Harrysson made the 1/8 with another very good performance. Now he plays Jonny Clayton, who this afternoon made a stellar performance in a tough battle with Zonneveld. I don't see an easy match for Clayton, even though on paper he would have wished such an opponent for a 1/8 before the tournament.   Also i'm delighted that my fav Gary Anderson seems to be in good form, though at his age, he is prone to sudden bad matches at any time.
    • I will just say that I'd like to live to see a time when we have someone like Stolz- a phenomenon who can win you 3 or 4 gold medals. A guy who, you know, if he goes at 100%, no one else will beat him. That's what happened to France with Marchand in swimming in 2024.
