And a third Gold for the day in the women’s 4x400!

In men’s high jump the level was disgustingly bad (2.17 m winning silver ...) and in women’s 4x400 m Germany didn’t use their (by far) best runner. This again shows that people shouldn’t just look at the medals, but at the actual performances. In many disciplines some of the best athletes didn’t even compete.

Tsitsos 4th in men's javelin 

I wanted a medal but still nice to see him back and with a new PB again after two years of dealing with injury problems and barely competing.

 

So Greece ends with 4 medals, pretty good considering we only won 2 in 2019. This was the most medals we've won at this event since 2003.

Impressive silver for  Roosen in the men's decathlon with his first ever 8000+ score. And a bronze for Van Es on the 5000m.

 

A few disappointments in the tournament, but all in all 6 medals isn't bad for the Dutch athletics team. Let's not forget Femke Bol and Lieke Klaver are also in this age group!

Pretty impressive 17 medals for us, unfortunately only 3 titles but medals in discus or javelin throw are not common in France. Hoping to see some of them in 2024

The only notable result for Croatia came in the decathlon, where Fran Bonifačić placed 6th and broke 38-year old NR (which was held by Blanka Vlašić's father).

 

Hopefully it's the making of our first high level combined athlete.
