Hello, I have a question :)

Am I weird?

Well it’s weird but then again that’s language and cultures for you.

In the Irish language there are no words for “yes” or “no” so you have to answer in a roundabout way.

Also to greet someone you say “Dia duit” which means “God to you”.

The reply to this is “Dia is Muire dhuit” which means “God and Mary to you”.

A sort of religious poker where we basically up the stake :d

And yes, if going into another’s home and they ask to take shoes off, by all means. Most people don’t ask that here though because most don’t have that rule for themselves. Some do though.

Yeah, but I mean, what's the advantage? Doesn't it just feel much more comfortable without shoes?

I just said I take my shoes off in general if I can as I hate wearing shoes. But no, I’m not throwing my shoes off at the door as soon as I come in the door. It’s not a priority :p

That's not only in Slovakia. Every normal person should be doing it.

I am normal and I wear shoes in home and generally we all do that here. But also if a person wants someone to take of your shoes to enter their home then of course you should.

I guess France is very low in the list, all I hear is people complaining here

Well it's pretty much the same in the UK (if not worse, due to the never-ending Brexit saga) and they are 15th happiest in the world :d

Happy St.Patrick's Day

Today is our national holiday, St.Patrick's Day, or Paddy's Day as most Irish call it. Each city, town and village will host local parades, the pubs will be filled with music, craic and drunks and we all get the day off work to recover from it all tomorrow :d.
