This may have changed. When Selina Grotian didn't have the German National standard, Felix Bitterling from the German federation all but openly said, that they plan to nominate her as the sixth athlete anyway. With her results in Ruhpolding she did get the standard last minute, so I'm not sure how the situation is now. But I wouldn't bet on German Federation using only 5 of their quota places. It's 50/50 IMO.

Very likely not. German women had 6 quota places to begin with, so the additional one would be the 7th. Only Dürr, Aicher and Weidle fulfilled our national standards. I guess they will nominate a 4th one for the team combination. But even using the 5th and 6th quota place would be a surprise. If they do, it will be for the team. Not to mention the 7th. They will, however, for sure use the 4th male quota place and probably the 5th as well, if we should get it.

A google search didn't help me. Is there any concrete information as to when the European Championships 2028 will take place, meaning before or after the Olympics? I'm asking because depending on the date for the Championships 2028, the European Championships 2026 may or may not count for the World Ranking regarding the Olympic qualification.
