Inside The Games has the perfect opening for me (I mean perfect, they’re looking for Junior journalist, with not much experience needed), but of course they’re based in the stinking UK, which last time I checked, isn’t that close to LA . I thought I could make it financially I’d move in a heartbeat, but there’s just no way. Plus, I’m pretty 95% sure I’d need a work visa (though I’d bet they’d help with that maybe). It sucks to your dream opportunity come, and know that you have absolutely no chance at it

Yes, totally agree with that. It should just stay in the World Beach Games. As I’ve said before, I’m all about that Mixed Offshore event though.

Yeah, I can’t wait to see Luge at St. Moritz. I never seen luge there before. The competition is very spread out, but the athletes are getting world class venues and experience and that’s what matters at these games. The organizing committee has also done very well marketing, so there should be plenty of spectators at all of the venues (especially since all of the outdoor venues are completely free (the indoor ones are too, but you have to apply for a pass)

At least this is one of three shity mixed events. Besides that, the program is very good and has me excited. Overall the level of competition should be high, and there will be a seriousness to these games that’s been lacking in the last few editions.

Which, as I’ve argued forever, is how it should have been years ago. Gender equality is a rare case of the IOC making a good decision. I’d would have preferred that just add more quotas to women’s events, without taking men’s quotas though. I can’t have everything when it comes to the IOC.

Alex Honnold and Tommy Caldwell have successful free soloed a second Route up El Captain. Amazing achievement. The route was deemed impossible past the the halfway point, but these days the impossible is becoming the possible in many sports.

At best, a few select quotas here and there were cut for gender equality. The rest to save money for the host city, so that the IOC can continue to exist lavishly.
