  1. The problem with journalism is how people are paid. I’m believe the best journalism is done without much personal pay, but with money available for research, travel costs, etc. I do require much to be able to live happily, the problem lies with people masquerading themselves as journalists, when they’re really entertainers, political agents, or others.
  2. 3 dead. If there’s a vigil tonight, I might try to make it. It’s a bit of drive, but it would mean a lot for those families for people to show up from all over I imagine.
  3. We know the game we play, we just wish the rules were enforced There’s absolutely nothing wrong with journalists asking for the truth, no matter the costs. True journalists just want what’s best for people (and yes, we have slants because we too are human)
  4. 2 dead, 2 to be forgotten
  5. At least I can live a otherwise happy life in a liberal countries. I can be surrounded by people of all different nationalities, races, etc. There’s a lot wrong with the US, and a lot of it has to do with failed conservative polices. We have saying “Conservatives vote with fear, Liberals vote with hope”. I’d prefer to live in a country where religion doesn’t control the government (like in most conservative countries), or in a place where actual logic exists.
  6. I guess when we’re all dead in 50 years because the ozone laye is falling apart, I can at least quote one fool. The biggest problem is my generation (and the one before) have been conditioned not to speak out. We don’t have the same opportunities your generation did, and it will come to a boiling point one day.
  7. Fuck Mississippi. This is who they elect? (I mean it’s not shocking, just sad)
  8. The pitfalls of capitalism (and communism for that matter). I don’t advocate for more shootings, because that is wrong, but I do immediately politicize the ones we have.
  9. I could. We need to continue the momentum of March For Lives. Our generation is so mis-characterized. Do you realize the difference of what we have to deal with compared to what our parents have to deal with. Luxury is the standard for people older than 30 who took all the opportunity and left nothing for us. In fact, they fucked the planet over too, so now we will have nothing left. We use social media because it’s all we can afford to do. We plan rallies, the police the show up. We plan vigils, parents tell us no. We contact our congressional reps and they laugh in our faces. This is modern society 1 AD.
  10. Ok, boomer.
  11. Oh thank god! We’re all saved “President Trump is monitoring the situation in Santa Clarita” according to the White House.
  12. At least I know what I getting into then.
  13. Well at least there’s plenty of victims to use. If 1 person dies, oh well. If 5 people die, oh well. More will follow, we’ll move on. At least we can push an agenda.
  14. As it should. The democrats need to capitalize on this. We need to make sure the century knows who advocating for change. Shootings are political now, that’s why I usually go straight to the politics thread now.
  15. 1 female student confirmed dead
  16. Don’t forget about blaming video games, millennials, Joker (the movie), and then talking about the good guys with guns and how it could have been worse.
  17. At least students aren’t shot at during school on a regular basis there. The part about my representative is 100% true by the way. He came into my Political Science class yesterday. I liked him as a person, but now I do not respect him as a leader.
  18. ABC is doing a bit better with their witnesseses. Oddly enough, a lone photographer got the best interviews so far. Kids clearly wanting to talk, and willing to share what happened.
  19. They’re interviewing parents and students right now, and I just can’t take it. I had to stop watching. The reporters are doing an excellent job, they’re asking the right questions (and respecting people’s rights), but the answers are just too hard to hear. I knew a girl who was at the Vegas shooting, I know a teacher who was killed in the Vegas shooting, I have friends who had a shooting happen at their school, and now a another shooting has happened close to my community. It’s too much.
  20. The news is saying the police are laying because other officers and contacts have given them conflicting information. It’s fucking chaos around here.
  21. Thoughts and prayers of course ?. God couldn’t save us the first 2,000,000 times, but maybe we’ll get lucky on 2,000,001 ?
  22. The shooter has committed suicide, and has ended the manhunt.
  23. Perfect breakdown of what will happen in the next 72 hours
  24. Yeah, and no one knows how they know this? I’m not saying their wrong (they are most likely correct), but the police keep saying they don’t know anything about the shooter.
  25. Our Senate decided against debate on gun reform as the shooting was happening. I’m dead serious, you can’t make this shit up.
