  1. At this point we’ve tried everything we can in this state. It’s time to mount a challenge on the second amendment. It just sucks to see this at the end of such an enjoyable day. I just reminds me of how incredibly lucky I am to have never witnessed shooting. It’s just so sad. Well, time to blame everything but the proliferation of guns. See y’all tomorrow morning, when I wake up to mourn
  2. I have rarely been more impressed by a TV show than Watchmen. Holy shit, it’s good. HBO is really saving itself from the GOT fallout with this one. Oh, what a glorious show.
  3. The situation in Hong Kong has been deteriorating fast over the last few days. HK Police have surround one of the main universities where student protestors have barricaded themselves in during a standoff. The students are holding like a fort, and the police have supposedly begun to make threats of lethal force to take the university. I’m beginning to think Hong Kong may rapidly become a humanitarian crisis if both sides fail to seek more peaceful methods of problem solving. The worst I fear is a massive crackdown by the People’s Republic of China.
  4. In what continues to be and amazingly good month for me, my phone carrier offered my family and free yearlong subscription to Disney+ . So I went ahead and watched the first two episodes of the Mandolorian. Damn good show so far, highly recommend (especially for Star Wars fans obviously). I’m starting to think I should have a movie/television themed podcast. I think I need to get more involved in the industry first though, thankfully that’s not an issue when you live close to Hollyweed
  5. I was just coming here to call out your success . Congrats
  6. Alright, so, Jojo Rabbit. It’s an interesting concept. The costuming is delightful, and outright hilarious at times. There is a clear message (ie. Nazis are bad). The acting is phenomenal from the entire cast, not a single weak performance. Where the movie doesn’t hold up, is as a satire. It would be better described as a historical comedy in my opinion. The writing is just to simple to be a satire. It’s a wonderful attempt at it, but it falls short. It doesn’t make you ask the questions a successful satire should. It also leave you feeling a bit odd at the end. Overall, I’d say the film is a success. Albeit, not the success people expected. I’d give the film anywhere between a 7.0-8.5/10. I’d need to rewatch it twice to get the most accurate ranking most likely.
  7. For 8 teams: 1 team from each of the 5 continental regions, winner of Primer 12, 2 at final qualification tournament
  8. One team would still miss out. Africa and Europe would both be guaranteed spots in that case.
  9. A Twitter nightmare I tell you. The best part is that most Americans will immediately assume Trump used the word, instead of the more innocent reason.
  10. Noting will be worse than when Germany plays Niger one day...the Twitter hashtag (per the normal model) would #NIG(you can pics it together from here)
  11. I forgot you joined the union for a minute there . Yes that’s true. It’s just crazy that we got beat by the likes of Mexico and not or
  12. In our middle school geography bee, everyone dreaded a question about Niger because you just know someone is blind to say it wrong. I’d also say that most white people wouldn't know that “word I won’t say cuase I’m white” has two g’s. Plus, It can be one of those things where you trick yourself into pronouncing it wrong because you’re so worried.
  13. Happy for Mexico, but it will be odd if the US doesn’t participate in “America’s Pastime”
  14. I used to watch more American Football before I really got into Olympic (and international) sport. It’s been a few years since I’ve followed the game closely. No, I do not know Blaine Gabbart. I follow American Football enough just to know the teams doing good, and the moments of drama here and there. However, I know a good QB when I see one. I also have read articles written about Kapernick’ training. As I’ve said time and time again, sports is just a more physical version of politics. Like it or not, everyone supports a team for a political reason. I wouldn’t be shocked to multiple protests at next years Olympics. The US protests at the Pan Am Games and Rio 2016 marathon protest (from the Ethiopian runner) pretty much proved that athletes can get away with it. I do absolutely agree that we should try to enjoy sport and keep politics out of it, but that’s not really a realistic goal. Even if I wished to just to watch a match/meet/games without politics, it wouldn’t actually be the same.
  15. One of the more famous baseball YouTube personalities found proof of the claims:
  16. Oh god no, absolutely not. Professional sports aren’t really my thing. I’m also not big on most team sports, so I generally only know a few experts/commentators within those sports. I think there are times when sport needs to get political, and times when it needs to be anything but. American Football needs change in my opinion. I think we need to stop arguing for a while because it’s clear that we can’t do it in a healthy way where we don’t constantly insult each other.
  17. Might be a while before we hear from @MHSN (assuming this report is true)
  18. Never heard of that Whitlock guy. I follow very little American Football because it’s not my cup of tea. I only know Stephen Smith from some of his other outlandish arguments.
  19. I officially applied for a job at Inside the Games, let’s hope for a miracle
  20. Sure, no other players have been granted special workouts, but Kapernick didn’t go to that one anyways . He played the NFL well, and you can’t blame him for being smarter than them. As for Stephen A. Smith, intelligence left him long ago. Like me, all he likes to do is argue. There’s often no reason to his arguments, and they often carry very little weight in the grand scheme of things. The NFL would be better off giving Kaepernick a place. They’d make a good profit off it, and attract part of a lost fan base back.
  21. Yeah, heard a war criminal might win thanks to the Easter bombings.
  22. It’s the NFL’s fault. They went behind his back and made secret terms. I like to see him take control. It ended up being a rather normal workout by NFL standards, besides the extra media attention of course. He tried to help a few other free agents out as well by inviting them, so it’s a win/win/win to me.
  23. Very well made movie, and pretty historically accurate. It was a truly fun experience as an endurance racing fan. It actually made me feel younger a bit because that’s what I grew up watching. The acting is good, and the movie is paced well. I had to choose between seeing this or Jojo Rabbit today, and I think I made the right choice. Of course, I’ll be seeing Jojo Rabbit tomorrow.
  24. Kapernick looked great at his workout today. 5 teams appear to be at the very least slightly interested in him
  25. It’s the country that every commentator in the US fears
