  1. Pretty interesting read/overview with a good number of studies in it. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/opinions/wp/2018/09/18/theres-overwhelming-evidence-that-the-criminal-justice-system-is-racist-heres-the-proof/
  2. The potential bullshit about reversed grid races is not even mentioned I believe? That's a relief
  3. He is looking at it like a freaking monkey looks at a watch https://www.washingtonpost.com/video/politics/trump-visits-st-johns-church-damaged-in-dc-protests/2020/06/01/a16fd35a-74ea-4b4d-bc1d-d2e2441fc1be_video.html
  4. That's not enough, the people demand the other three officers to be locked up as well. Trial by protest.
  5. What the mayor says in this case. Thing is, Amsterdam has a.....let us say, not exactly wonderful mayor nowadays (Femke Halsema, she used to be the leader of one of the national parties, GroenLinks)
  6. One moment people are applauding for healthcare workers (not really my 'thing' to do, but fine), another moment they are showing the same healthcare workers a big fat middle finger: protests in Amsterdam due to the whole USA thing, where police has said they are not going to act to the mass of people too close together. Well that's just fantastic, let's throw everyone's safety in the trashcan now. It's pretty much impossible now to defend COVID-19 precautions, people have seen the demonstration today and won't care anymore. Same place, a few weeks ago during the national 'Death Remembrance' (when it's usually completely filled up):
  7. Hence my saying you can't be sure if it's real or not with all of these situations and insinuations of who is behind the violence.
  8. You're forgetting the videos of truck drivers (who happen to be white) having to drive away to save their lives because a whole mass of people is climbing their truck and most likely ready to pull them out and beat them to God knows where (hello Reginald Denny). It's being a whole big shitfest from both extremes.
  9. Again, can't be sure if it's real or not, but it is fun to think about some lunatic somewhere thinking "lemme just take a dump on this car, that'll teach them!"
  10. That would be so surprising. /sarcasm
  11. Two Italian (non-Olympian) swimmers have died in a plane crash, one of them finished 8th (200m free) at the 2017 short course ECh. https://swimswam.com/two-italian-swimmers-die-in-a-plane-crash-on-sunday-morning-near-rome/
  12. You've got nothing but a handful of belongings, living on the street, then these violent idiots come in and burn even the little bit you have.. On the other hand, luckily there are also some good things, little as they may be. This one shows both sides - yes, including regular police officers - very much don't lack humanity. Can't find an English tweet at the moment.
  13. Not much I can't really think of anything that's not in some way related to sports (i.e. going there because of an event)
  14. Just put this in your Ctrl + V...every damn time We've already had some of the usual moments with the likes of Gase as well. Bowman, Reddick and Custer out as well, that is a shame. Stenhouse strikes again.
  15. It's not something I'd rule out, but like most places in the world it's also not something I have on my list. Who knows
  16. As if I'd ever go to the Summer Olympics
  17. That's all very fun and dandy, but there's only one Last Great Colosseum.
  18. Racing on the Last Great Colosseum today
  19. Meanwhile in Colorado. Apart from giving a certain virus free space to flare up massively, this is a touching and moving protest.
  20. Always the question whether or not these things are true, but given the situation, it wouldn't be surprising. The result of someone trying to defend his shop. It is rather graphic.
  21. Bobby Morrow, 1956 Olympic champion in the 100m, 200m and 4x100m and so an absolute sprinting legend. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bobby_Morrow
  22. I hope you do, these protests need more people who show they can protest by simply protesting, instead of ravaging, and I'm fairly sure you're not the violent kind. Do let us know.
  23. Good photo of some of the actual protesters instead of rioters. One of the police officers got separated and these people stood around him to keep the....let's say less restrained people on the streets away.
  24. I hope this lady will make some better decisions in her life, because this one wasn't the definition of smart.
  25. Was that the one where it seemed like the car was being surrounded and hit by 'protestors' (i.e. being attacked) before that happened, or was that another one somewhere else in the country? It's confusing to keep up with exactly all the incidents within a grand situation like this
