  1. Good thing I watched it, if I just read this I'd think he had a huge crash Respect for Albon's attempt, too bad it was a tiny bit overenthusiastic.
  2. Lowest number of finishers since at least Singapore 2017 btw.
  3. Oh they can expect a big fine, a whole wheel just flying off is a major no-go.
  4. That is correct, yes. Although he should have had it last year until Hamilton fucked him up for nothing in the last lap or so.
  5. Damn, that entire wheel just breaking off could have ended much worse..
  6. Russell was doing so well
  7. Wow that was an epically dumb move by Vettel
  8. I actually don't mind him anymore, he's not fantastic but considering his quicker than average entry into F1, I think he managed to generally learn pretty well.
  9. Stroll out as well. Grosjean got hit by Ericsson.
  10. And that's it for Ricciardo.
  11. Yep, the orange army on the stands is quiet
  12. I can't even find an equestrian link with that
  13. Mercedes was not much special with Rosberg and Schumacher...until Hamilton got there and they became the big team.
  14. So, roughly 60/40 in terms of kneeling/not kneeling and it wasn't even during the anthem. All well, everyone was respectful and now it's on to the race.
  15. Nobody was talking about the car? I was 12-14 years old and we absolutely talked about how annoying it was for the Ferrari to be so much better and how useless it was to have Schumacher top all those record lists and how sad it was to have boring Schumacher be the number one instead of the way more likeable Barrichello. Yes, of course Schumacher was a great driver, so was Vettel, so is Hamilton. Much like Schumacher, I do find him off-putting in general (although I still cheered for Hamilton in 2008).
  16. Crap, Verstappen is now being moved to the much harder 2nd position. Terrible track to have the inside line in turn one
  17. Plus obviously Yuji Ide was the worst thing to ever happen to F1
  18. I don't think it has much to do with Hamilton himself. F1 was insanely boring for years during the Schumacher/Ferrari years for example, and it wasn't much better in the Vettel/Red Bull years. Same thing now with Hamilton/Mercedes, but saying a very good driver (because let's face it, he definitely is) is the worst thing to ever happen to a sport where legendary champions died behind the wheel is a bit...exaggerated.
  19. That is an exaggeration of epic proportions
  20. Not literally those words, but saying you're complicit (and thus basically calling you a racist) if you don't do what he does isn't far off. He is not giving anyone a real choice to show support in the way they want it, he is telling people they have to show support in the way he wants it. Anyway, we're not going to agree on it and I'm not much looking forward to letting this thing make gaps bigger (even though we're all clearly against racism), so I'm just gonna wait for the start and enjoy the race.
  21. Jimmie Johnson has tested positive for COVID-19 and will miss today's Brickyard race. This ends an insane streak of 663 consecutive starts (nearly two decades without missing a race) Justin Allgaier out of the Xfinity Series will replace him.
  22. One says "according to the rules he should", another says "according to the rules he shouldn't". No group of experts agrees, and in that case it's just better to not penalise someone. Besides, think of the fun we can have now if the Mercedes guys hit each other in turn one
  23. Yeah, the standard theories of FIA always helping Mercedes and Ferrari are happily going round again At least in the Netherlands it's being compared with Verstappen getting a penalty in Mexico for the same thing, which I don't think is entirely fair of a comparison. For Verstappen there definitely was just yellow in the turn, but for Hamilton they were waving both yellow and green in the same turn yesterday. Much as I really don't like Hamilton, I can accept him not getting a penalty (which would have moved him from 2nd to 2nd?) there.
