  1. Not a big chance, but he has definitely shown to be able to step up if conditions are....weird. Cool to see he pulled through big time yesterday, it was quite clear that these were conditions where riders skills made the difference and more than half the field kind of humiliated themselves
  2. No points for correctly choosing the two nations who'll fight for gold and silver And probably bronze isn't going to be much of a battle neither.
  3. Interesting to see Voinova and Shmeleva battle it out for gold in the sprint (as expected basically), but both not even making the keirin final And what a tournament for good old Maximilian Levy, beating Denis Dmitriev for gold in both the sprint and keirin
  4. Were they living in homes where Azeri's used to live in before being driven out, or are these other homes? It's hard to see it as one-sided as 'Azerbaijan is the aggressor', like these headlines seem to want to describe it...
  5. Wow, that is random I have hopes to hear him soon though...
  6. I am surprised at my own votes now and happy Malta managed to get that bronze. Argentina was my first reserve, Malta my second, but by now I'm at a point where I think Malta would have gotten at least 5-6 points if I were to make my own ranking now
  7. Yeah alright, the last scoreboards had to be fixed in a hurry after the mixup was discovered, I might have looked over a flag or two
  8. Oh crap, this one I'll actually quickly edit before having the first ever World War started by Totallympics
  9. A word from our president "First of all, many congratulations to Serbia, @NikolaB and Irish Stew of Sindidun on their first ever Totallympics International Song Contest victory and, as someone who awarded them the maximum score, I can only say it is incredibly deserved - a fact that's made even more clear by the overwhelming victory. Second, huge congratulations to Malta, @Glen and Airport Impressions with a historic first ever medal, which goes to show that one should simply never give up...you never know what's possible! Third, I personally owe a great deal of gratitude towards several people, who have helped me immensely in making the contest possible. I wasn't sure I could do it, mostly due to a severe lack of creativity, but exactly that is where mostly @Olympian1010, @OlympicIRL and @mrv86have been of fantastic value to me, and I definitely won't forget @dcro's efforts for the team competition! Last, but most definitely not least, a big thank you to all who have participated in the contest. I'm amazed at the number of jurors who came here to post their own votes, which always shows a good deal of commitment - nothing against those who didn't, by the way, of course life does sometimes get in the way a little. It would not have been as much fun without each and everyone of you, so from the bottom of my heart: thank you all! Now, lastly, but actually lastly: have a wonderful evening, and see you at the bar!"
  10. Tiebreakers Malta beats Ireland in the battle for bronze, with the smallest of the island nations having received points from 22 national juries...a single jury more than Ireland's 21. India and France tied for fifth place and both received points from an impressive 17 juries. However, France received two scores of 12 points, whereas India received none, leading to France denying the world's second most populous nation a first ever top-5 finish. The Netherlands, Argentina and Romania tied for 11th, which goes to the host nation: their score of receiving votes from 14 nations is one higher than the other two. Romania got a single 12-pointer, Argentina did not, and so 12th goes to Romania. Every position where a tie might be involved is the subject of severe scrutineering! China and Portugal, after a recount, ended up being tied for 18th place. China received points from 13 nations, which is four more than Portugal, and so the Asian giant gets the position. Indonesia and the United States fought heavily over 20th place, which went to the Asian nation with 11 against 8 in terms of number of nations they've received votes from. Spain got points from 10 nations, one more than Croatia, and so took away the 25th spot. Israel and Tunisia were in the running for 28th; it went to Tunisia, which received votes from seven juries, two more than Israel. Last, but definitely not least: Greece and Mexico and their battle for 32nd. It was won by Greece, with 6 nations voting for them against Mexico's 5 nations.
  11. And so we have reached ourselves a conclusion...points have been splintered, ties have been broken...and here we have it, the final standings of the 2020 Totallympics Open International Song Contest! Final Scoreboard TOISC - NETHERLANDS 2020 China 18 67 Serbia 1 237 Portugal 19 67 Canada 2 165 Indonesia 20 62 Malta 3 143 United States 21 62 Ireland 4 143 Italy 22 57 France 5 124 Denmark 23 56 India 6 124 Poland 24 48 Germany 7 118 Spain 25 44 Lithuania 8 109 Croatia 26 44 Kazakhstan 9 99 Slovenia 27 41 New Zealand 10 91 Egypt 28 40 Netherlands 11 85 Tunisia 29 39 Romania 12 85 Israel 30 39 Argentina 13 85 Slovakia 31 36 Brazil 14 82 Greece 32 35 Moldova 15 79 Mexico 33 35 Czech Republic 16 77 Hungary 34 23 Great Britain 17 75 Bulgaria 35 14 There can, however, be only one winner and with an overwhelming performance, that honour goes to Serbia! Please turn up the volume and make way for a final performance of the TOISC 2020 champions: Irish Stew of Sindidun - Lady of New Tomorrow!
  12. Which I find double as impressive considering Zombie had the advantage of already being a very big international hit for a very long time, whereas I'm sure most people here had never heard Lady of New Tomorrow.
  13. That's what I was going to break the ties with at first, until I thought "Hmm, let's actually read the rules before I do that"
  14. All ties will be broken and clarified as soon as Malta's 12 points have been posted, no worries But Malta's first ever medal has been secured, as is now clear
  15. Malta giving Ireland the 2 points it needed to draw level in points @dcro Didn't you say Ireland was 2 points behind France in the overall ranking for bronze?
