  1. Now let's be fair, Phelps is an absolute legend who was winning nearly every event he focussed on, so yes, finishing 4th in the 400m IM was not exactly a good result for him He finished 4th, how much value do you think a 4th place has for someone who needs a warehouse just to hold his Olympic medals?
  2. But that was 1992, 1996 and 2004, it means nothing for 2016 Why not keep the African question and add: Will Brazil win a medal in both the women's and men's tournament?
  3. I've taken the liberty of putting all questions in an Excel sheet per sport, so we can see which sports drastically need some more questions. Archery: 4 Athletics: 12 Badminton: 2 Basketball: 1 Boxing: 4 Canoeing (sprint, slalom): 3 Cycling - BMX: 2 Cycling - Mountainbike: 2 Cycling - Road: 2 Cycling - Track: 1 Diving: 1 Equestrian: 5 Fencing: 1 Field hockey: 2 Football: 1 Golf: 1 Gymnastics (artistic, trampoline, rhythmic): 4 Handball: 1 Judo: 1 Modern pentathlon: 2 Rowing: 1 Rugby sevens: 1 Sailing: 2 Shooting: 1 Synchronized swimming: 1 Swimming: 5 Table tennis: 1 Taekwondo: 1 Tennis: 1 Triathlon: 2 Volleyball: 2 Water polo: 1 Weightlifting: 4 Wrestling: 4 General: 8 Total: 83 In case you're interested, the Excel sheet can be downloaded here: https://we.tl/XXJexqAIwx
  4. Alright, Jones posted her time on junior (76cm) hurdles, so it doesn't count here Still, hugely impressive.
  5. This is some serious stuff! Gathimba going from 1:23 to 1:19 and a time that puts him a whole lot closer to world class level. And Jones, damn, she's 15...did she run this time with the senior hurdles?
  6. Unfortunately I can't find the video, but Dutch TV yesterday showed a video with a bit of a weird thing Thibaut Courtois (the Belgian goalkeeper) does before every match at Euro apparently...every time the camera goes to him during the Belgian anthem before the match, he touches his chin And nobody knows why
  7. Well the fact that he just came down from altitude doesn't make his performance more impressive I mean, when coming down from high altitude to normal altitude, that's when they're at their best.. Which is not to say his time isn't impressive by the way, because 3:44 in a period where everything is focussed on training is still damn good!
  8. Tandem race Now a Paralympic event.. "A Danish team performing gymnastics." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D6RK0M6-GUg
  9. My memory isn't helping me unfortunately, but welcome back anyway
  10. At least something won for Argentina
  11. I must say, I am glad to have gotten to know Gabor Kiraly in the very end of his career 1/8 finals, well done Hungary
  12. Wow, what a 2-3 minute period by the reserve Dutch
  13. Only 1:58.20 But look at this video of the 4x400 relay, apparently Semenya as last runner had a 49.6 split
  14. Come on Slovaks, just 3 goals to tie the game.
  15. Yeah well GER 2-0 SVK is not what I wanted to read
  16. I'm afraid I must agree with our Danish friend here
  17. They've got laxatives for that
  18. Former Dutch international Pierre van Hooijdonk on TV now: "Look, Slovakia is not one of the favourites, but they are a dangerously slippery banana peel."
  19. And the quarterfinals for places 9-16: 8 matches, 8 times where the losing team did so without scoring a single point
  20. Well it's all going down the shitter now
  21. You see? Ireland is uniting everyone, because the Netherlands joins Portugal in being with Ireland today
