  1. I suppose that president of PAOK will be at the very least banned for life from any involvement in sports whatsoever by the Greek FA? Plus if UEFA has some balls, they take some sort of action as well, because coming on the pitch with a gun can't be tolerated of course. I mean, it's kinda comical to see now that we know nothing happened, but come on
  2. Just for fun, check the rest of his career results...talk about a fluke
  3. Can't we just ignore this freestyle part? Don't mention it here, not during the Olympics and simply never speak any word about it like it never existed in an Olympic format in the first place?
  4. https://tisc-news.totallympics.com/?p=814 I didn't know there was actually a 'real' controversy
  5. Alright, to answer the thread name question: Red Bull Crashed Ice from Edmonton, the season finals, and the Fiji - Kenya Vancouver 7s final, which were Saturday night and yesterday night respectively. Both are fun
  6. The general sports fan - the kind that watches the evening sports news and maybe one or two sports in the weekend if there are no other priorities - would probably notice that in the sports news on TV and say "oh" to themselves, but that's about it.
  7. Every game in the World Series gets a small article on the general sites, and if something odd happens or a Dutch player does something interesting you'll read it there, but most of the regular season doesn't exist Of course, like I said, there's always die hard fans for everything, but apart from them baseball (and especially MLB) is incredibly small. Wouldn't say it is 100% ignored, but most people probably won't be able to name more than one team (Yankees, obviously), if any. Dutch competition doesn't get much attention neither.
  8. Yep, here in the Netherlands I think NFL is somewhat equal with NBA, or a bit lower, but at least a lot higher in terms of general interest (mostly number of obscure fans) than NHL and MLB. Which I guess makes sense: NFL only has 16 regular season games, making every one important, whereas in MLB you've got 162 regular season games making every individual game feel like it doesn't matter at all.
  9. Haha. Badminton, ice hockey, snooker, rugby (apart from the World Cup), fencing, table tennis and so on barely even earn the name of 'fringe sport' in the Netherlands Of course every single sport has a few followers here and there, but for most of them it's almost none. Football (duh) and cycling are definitely the biggest ones, probably the only ones I'd call 'major', together with speed skating.
  10. What?? I've already posted the Dutch song a while ago, no problems there
  11. Netherlands Kensington - Bridges Yet another unstable weekend We bought our own praise with easy goals And we’re off to sell it as the greatest story told Yet another ungraceful evening Another man’s faith An easy foe And we’re off to shiver in the face of the unknown Though we long together for the tables to turn Though we pray together for the bridges to burn Still we stay cold Yet another ungrateful weekday We’re caught in a game where the winner takes all And we’re off to tell it as the greatest story told Though we long together for the tables to turn Though we pray together for the bridges to burn Still we stay cold We got carried away by it We got carried away from home We got carried away by it We got carried away from home
  12. Friendly?! I'd say it's about time for an aggressive reminder HEY!
  13. Dear lord Maybe she got some tips from Serena on dealing with it
  14. Are you a Pannonian Rusyn?
  15. If you're not familiar with things, I honestly don't know why. It's all about how someone reacts to them and how they are asked (if someone would ask me in a friendly way if I'm a gypsy, why not answer friendly?).
  16. I suppose you mean the snowboard cross? Yep
  17. Because he had a super thin skin and didn't understand that not everyone knows everything and thought getting angry would be better than simply explaining it
  18. Kramer has been complaining about his (left) leg, but then again, Kramer is always complaining about something when he's not winning (in Sochi it was his back, for example).
  19. NASCAR at the moment, Pro Mazda Championship in 15 minutes
  20. If I were Vetter I'd start making plans for what to build on a Finnish island... (this)
  21. Pedersen was 'allowed' to lose 7 seconds (a bit more), but after almost 7km he was 6-7 seconds faster than Roest, so there was no excitement whatsoever about who would win. Until all of a sudden, Pedersen crashed into the boarding. He stayed down for a bit (laptime of 50 seconds because of that), got back up and continued in a rather impressive but hopeless way, eventually still beating Kramer but losing 15 seconds to Roest.
  22. This is bizarre. Roest world champion, yay.
