  1. Well, but the biathlon World Cup is in Norway at the moment...come on
  2. I'll try, hopefully with some help from @Dennis Don't expect too much, mostly some Dutch news and stuff like that for starters (at least from me)
  3. Now I'm kinda laughing at Choi falling down in the final in front of his home crowd, that'll teach him (or not, since the World Cup in Japan was after the Olympics, but you get the point)
  4. I will do my best to make the Dutch national thread get a bit bigger though, mostly by posting some news articles I think (since I just really don't have the time (or will) to copy, paste and adjust a million results in all kinds of formats and templates). So that's good
  5. We discuss, fight to the death and come up with one choice or another. (minus the fight to the death part) But since that's not the case yet, this is not something to worry about and it's perfectly fine as it is now
  6. Which I understand, but shouldn't be 'forced'. "Netherlands National Thread | Road to Tokyo 2020" (no idea why it's all with capital letters, but alright ) makes 0 sense when me or @Dennis only use the thread for some more 'national' news now and then. It makes perfect sense when it's almost exclusively used for Olympic qualification, but it's not. So. Yeah. Hence my remark: this should be the choice of the user (or when there's multiple users, the users) who actually use the thread.
  7. I sometimes feel like the French secretly cloned me and the result is you
  8. If a user wants to keep track of Olympic qualification in their thread (like for example @hckosice often seems to do), adding this 'Road to' thing makes sense, because then it's a thread that's specifically about the road to the Olympics. But a user/group of users from one nation who use their national thread only for general stuff (and not qualification) should of course have the choice to not have something added. Like my post above, the title of the Netherlands thread is fine as it is, no addition needed
  9. Also, in Dutch there's not really an expression used for 'road to Tokyo/Beijing/London' or anything similar. That + the Dutch thread being mostly empty and, when used, not really used to keep track of Olympic qualifying means I'll politely decline the addition of 'Tokyo 2020' in the thread and keep the thread title how it is
  10. Former world allround and double Olympic champion Jochem Uytdehaage has said we might be at the end of the 'era' of Sven Kramer and Ireen Wüst, who dominated speed skating for 12 years (with 9 + 6 world allround titles and a shitload of world and Olympic medals). The article is in Dutch, but surely Google translate works
  11. So if you have a national thread in which you don't really post about Olympic qualification, but more about national stuff, you are still obligated to have 'Road to Tokyo' in the thread title? Even when it makes no sense? This is not a choice for the people who actually use the thread?
  12. The fuck is this (Ukrainian federation's website, by far the best to analyse results) http://biathlon.com.ua/ And for @Xander the original text instead of Google Translate's work:
  13. Kaisa lost the World Cup overall lead today
  14. They're taking their sweet time. Next on the list: expel themselves. Turn the lights off at the AIBA office, bury that building deep in the earth and never look back again.
  15. Not literally, I hope? I'm joing you in Barcelona, and am also watching some NCAA tournament basketball from last night
  16. But Brazil already posted about the deadline last night, I have no doubt about them being in time
  17. Half a day to go and only the host nation (whose jury members are online on Totallympics often enough) to post a song, nice
  18. And there's the crystal globe for Kugelblitz
  19. Friendly reminder: the World Cup finals start in less than 30 minutes with the men's downhill in Are (Reminder because personally I always tend to forget World Cup competitions that are outside of the weekend/Friday )
  20. Interesting that some users seem to come back every time for TISC, yet I barely ever see them post in actual sports threads
  21. Awfully sad news indeed Truly one of the few people in the world of who one can say "the world won't be the same without him"
  22. If it's only the 2nd season of a competition, chances are rather high that some teams will be qualifying for the quarterfinals for the 1st time
