    Yeah, she already seemed somewhat injured after the high jump and never really got in contention for the medals at all. Judging by how she looked sitting there on the stands, she's not exactly heartbroken, probably saw it coming for a while already

    To think Wanyonyi almost would not have made it here. At the Kenyan trials he had forgotten his bib before the semis and had to run (!) back to his hotel, 800m or so (luckily not that far). Ran back, started his semi easy to not go crazy, but because of that he ended up in a mess and fell....but got back up and was just in time to qualify for the final which he then easily won

    Unlike Paris...even the morning sessions, which have no finals, are absolutely packed

    Yeah, everything for the Americans, but it's a shame for the event. Mornings don't have that special finals atmosphere

    Johnson-Thompson with a good throw to somewhat stay in the fight for gold, although she'll need a big disappointment for Thiam in the javelin.

    Looks like everyone saw the women's race yesterday and decided it wasn't worth going to the men's race, since from the stands you really don't see anything anyway

    Yep, the track cycling programme has lots of room to improve. You know, like this nonsense omnium format, like the individual pursuit that just should never have been taken out. Other sports and stuff are added left and right and things like track cycling get their programmes undressed bit by bit.

    Considering both handball teams got wildcards for the next world championships, yeah, they're gonna get into the Olympics for free

    Not needed, the last 5 minutes already takes half an hour with constant stops.
