  1. But different one than the Japanese rider who got screwed against Carlin in the individual sprint.
  2. Took revenge on Carlin after the individual sprint
  3. If it wasn't so much work I'd rewatch all of the keirin races to see the statistics
  4. It's Ota and not Ota and a British rider fell, thus Ota gets disqualified.
  5. Lhamo finished! Be proud, young lady.
  6. Out in the semi's is what I would have expected, out in the quarters....nah. For Hoogland that is, Quintero I had as medal contender. Like so many in the keirin.
  7. Have to think of more later, but assuming she finishes, Kinzang Lhamo in the marathon with more and more people joining her towards the finish
  8. By the way, an athlete like Kinzang might not fight for the medals here, she is rather well trained and has massive endurance, judging by things like this: "In 2022, she finished second in the Snowman Race, a five-day event covering 203 kilometers, with the highest point reaching 5,470 meters." It is just a totally different sport than these ultraraces.
  9. This time I understood almost everything actually And to be clear: it's not meant as bashing, I can only imagine how incredibly hard it must be to learn Dutch from Amharic or a language like that. She definitely knows the language well given how 'fluently' she speaks in terms of pace, it's just the pronunciation that's difficult.
  10. 2km to go now, let's go! No ground cameras by the way, they clearly didn't count on this anymore. But air shots are still there
  11. Yeah, exactly. It's not going to be possible to change everything in a way that everyone likes it, but it makes total sense that things change over the course of years. Take the breaking as example: I don't mind it being in the Olympics, wouldn't mind it not being there neither, but I did find it entertaining and it was very clearly a crowd hit.
  12. Title says it all: what were your favorite moments of the Paris Olympics? I would kindly like to ask everyone to make this a positive thread, with some basic ground rules: 1. Post cool, awesome, inspiring, thrilling moments you enjoyed in a positive way (not 'I loved that athlete X lost or crashed!'), whether that's a gold, a 50th place or just something unrelated to results but still nice. 2. Let's not react to each others suggestions with 'no way, that sucked, I hated that'. I know we're a very international bunch and everyone seeing it from their own country's perspective often leads to things being seen as very cool by one and shitty by another, that's fine, but it would be great to keep this thread positive. We can have a special negative thread, if people want, but it's not this one. #peace If you see someone post something as a positive thing and you hated or disliked it, just sit on your fingers and close the thread or something, we have plenty of places here to express that negativity. That should be all, let's party
  13. "In the last kilometer, I regretted running the 5 and 10 so badly" Haven't seen her react and talk this happy ever, not even after the two golds in Tokyo, where the bronze felt like 'no gold' instead of 'nice, bronze'. Now it's just non-stop happy and super excited
  14. Someone from a different kind of country is really not going to suddenly turn the Olympics back to 'the good old days when only men and amateurs were allowed and they only did naked running and wrestling' That's really not going to be a matter of whichever face is at the top. The world changes, and so the Olympics changes, we've got to deal with. Lots of people like it, lots of people don't (keep in mind most regular people - which we here all are not - can't give two fucks about which obscure event is removed or added or whatever).
  15. Ten minutes in, already rewatched it 3 times The hype is real. And anyway it was super awesome to have an Olympic marathon with 3-4 athletes very much in the fight for gold that late in the race!
  16. How? I mean, she had a (for her) bad season so far, I honestly didn't expect her to even win a medal in every event Checked my notes, I had her down for 1 or 2 medals and maybe 1 gold
  17. Can't wait for the interview on Dutch NOS, where the guy asks her 1 question and then she rattles on non-stop for 5 minutes No idea what she'll be saying but I'll love it
  18. Salpeter to the front, let's go
  19. And that's O'Keefe done and dusted after roughly 400 meters. Must be sick or something..
  20. Let's go Salpeter! Redemption time
  21. Groenewegen, Cavendish, Sagan, Philipsen, all those sprinters
  22. Yep, even worse after Carlin got away with his shit yesterday. Fuck this, time to leave the house for the first time in....oops, more than two weeks.
  23. Awang is not British and so gets DQ'ed in the keirin for something that was fine when Jason Kenny did it in the Olympic final
