  1. I honestly don't think it's a problem, it wouldn't be the first time he's this good months apart. Besides, peaking twice in a month or so...yeah, that's difficult, but half a year in between two peaks really shouldn't be a problem for professional athletes...
  2. The raw speed of Lavreysen is simply unequalled, damn
  3. Huh, I had to Google that to make sure you weren't joking
  4. Wow, De Laat almost manages to mess up even this absolutely massive lead in the last laps But, almost.
  5. Yeah, probably it's something with mixed feelings among athletes: for sure some will prefer Olympic gold, for sure some will prefer a Grand Slam, and I think a lot would say it's 50/50. Kind of like the Four Hill Tournament in ski jumping being an arguably more cherished prize than Olympic gold, but of course also there not every athlete will agree (same in road cycling, kind of). Best option is to just win both
  6. Josie Knight beating Franziska Brausse in the individual pursuit final by 0,003 seconds after an absolutely perfectly timed last half kilometer What a race!
  7. Sighel with the full sweep Only the second man in history to do so, after Sjinkie Knegt in 2018.
  8. Although would one really prefer the Olympic gold over a Grand Slam? (unless you've already got several Grand Slams of course) I honestly have no idea anymore who are the Tokyo Olympic champions
  9. Didn't know about this (or much about her outside of the court), so this post got me reading a little bit....damn, what a story, and what an absolute waste of oxygen scumbag for a father
  10. Yeah, we've been hearing the 'it is going to get hard now' line just as often as the 'the next title will be historic' line
  11. Sabalenka - Seidel is an excellent example of Eurosport's eternally unfortunate choice in having the absolute need to show every single 'top-5 athlete destroying lowly ranked athlete' match Double bagel incoming.
  12. Do they still do Game, Schett and Mats? Almost anything that replaces that would be good (although Kyrgios might indeed be an exception to that rule ), but I assume that will be kept for the coverage outside of the matches...?
  13. Too bad, Prizmic came up shy for an amazing upset On the bright side for the media, the 'hunt for the historic X'th title everyone was waiting for' is still going on
  14. New hype train has left the station and it's called Olivia Puranen Only 15 years old and in her first official FIS season she is doing fantastic, yesterday she even put a full 20 seconds on World Cup semi-regular Anni Alakoski in a 10k classic. https://www.fis-ski.com/DB/general/results.html?sectorcode=CC&raceid=45886
  15. Asian Tour started yesterday, with some decent 85+ averages in the final stages, but also this: With leg 1 being this beauty
  16. Nice that the match Eurosport is focusing on is actually interesting for a change Normally they always go for the big names in the first rounds, which usually lead to just wasting TV time since those matches are so often blowouts, but this is very interesting!
  17. And while not eating, booing everything and everyone, because of course it's the Australian Open, where many people don't go to watch tennis, but to be annoying
  18. Prizmic takes the second set against Djokovic I know, not gonna happen, but still
  19. It does have ice hockey matches listed, so that helps, thanks! Although I wish they'd simply have it in a regular way online, instead of as a massive PDF where you need to zoom in endlessly and then scroll back and forth There are such excellent systems, like the Sportresult one I believe (say *eventname*.sportresult.com), but they always have to somehow create their own cumbersome thing at the IOC....not sure the schedule and results system is even available yet, less than a week before the start?
  20. I am highly surprised they didn't spend the time by playing one of various forms of hockey Meanwhile, Brazil's cross-country skiers aren't even on snow yet and are at 30+ degrees temperatures right now. But you know, why try to acclimatize if you're going to finish last anyway (which is an attitude no athlete should have of course, but it is the attitude of the federation, save money on everything possible, because the results will be bad anyway.....duh).
  21. Yeah, because they're at least smart enough to know that's a rather bad idea for themselves.
  22. Draw seems like a rather nice result for Egypt, no? @thepharoah
