Sprint Canoeing Qualification to Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympic Games
Vojthas replied to hckošice's topic in Canoeing - Sprint
If I'm counting everything as the ICF will, these are the reallocations: - K1 200 women - Hungary and Portugal - K4 500 women - Russia, Denmark, Japan - C2 500 women - Japan - K4 500 men - France - C2 1000 men - Czech Republic -

Being out of national podium always hurts me so bad... still TOP 10 overall is not that bad, even for someone living so close to one of the most famous canoe regatta lakes in the world. -

@JoshMartini007 - if Chile gets quota in C2, the single athlete quota to be reallocated because of Mailliard will go to C1 (Borowska) or the best non-qualified C2 with one athlete quota from C1 (USA the only possibility)? -

Aaaah, yes, I missed the first step. You were right. Well, it saved Hungary's six athlete quota then. -

It doesn't go this way. It will go to the overall women's kayak pool (as well as her place from the K4) and the reallocation will start from K4 with K1 200 being the last possibility. I have another question - if Chile gets quota in C2, the single athlete quota to be reallocated because of Mailliard will go to C1 (Borowska) or the best non-qualified C2 with one athlete quota from C1 (USA the only possibility)? -

I remember your field hockey team was supposed to take part last year in FIH Open Series in Poland, but eventually didn't come to Gniezno. And I remember writing to your association's refereeing committee's chairman when I was preparing dictionary for my MA degree. -

What if they qualify 6 athletes (instead of @Vektor as it seems, I believe in Dóra Lucz)? Can they start in K2 based on double start of these 6 athletes or do they need to qualify the K2 (then do it need to be other athletes than these six?). -
Modern Pentathlon Qualification to Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympic Games

Some of us were sure about "free" quota for Kyrgyzstan. Now you can bet your money on Uzbekistan - well known Russian athletes Alise Fakhrutdinova and Alexander Savkin are confirmed to start for this country by the UIPM and they're said to participate in Budapest at World Champs under their new flag. -

Do you know if there is some fan zone near the venue (and will remain even after the Budapest part of championships ends)? -

I don't know if it's youth, but surely urban (50 m might be even an outdoor pool in the middle of the city) and sustainable (less water needed). -

What about boat quotas? Will it be exceeded after the reallocation? And which countries will be taken into consideration - the 11th country in K4 or the first not qualified in K4 which have for example one athlete quota missing to create K4 (with athletes quotas from K1 and K2). I guess the 11th, but just want to be sure. And if there are three quotas available and 11th K4 not qualified anywhere else - these athletes quotas will be reallocated to country that needs 3, 2 or 1 quotas to complete K4 or it will go already to first not qualified K2? -

So it means I understand the qualification system so far. Then there comes the reallocation, but I hope I will cope with that by tomorrow. -

It is athlete's quota, but they can win the boat quota? For example K2 being part of K4 and they can start in both events in Tokyo, but they can use only four athletes, unless other athletes get K1 quotas, right? -

No, Szeged is a city in south-eastern Hungary, famous mostly from canoe lake and university. The festival is called Sziget, which means Island in Hungarian as it is held on the Óbuda (Old Buda) Island which is well seen from the Duna Arena (don't mistake with Margit sziget, which is also nearby). -
Maybe he remembers seven, but is not sure if it was eight or even more. I don't know, just guessing.

For me it doesn't matter if it's physical or cultural - it's simply a feature. The intention is a key - if someone wants to offend someone by this gesture - yes, that's racist, but if someone simply associates this with something nice (the Olympic adventure is rather nice one, isn't it?) then I don't think it's a bad thing. I'd say more - it makes think "Asian eyes gesture is something bad, because it shows this people are worse" - but they aren't, are they? Then if it's not something bad, you can't say it offends them. Unless you want to - but you can offend anyone with any feature - you are worse, because you are black, you are worse, because you are fan of Arsenal, you are worse, because you prefer tea to coffee... it's only in the head of the offending idiot that he associates some feature with people being worse.
-
Wait a minute, what is so "racist" about it? I don't get it. It's simply characteristical feature of Asians, in this specific case, Japaneses. For me it's the same kind of "racism" as drinking tea gesture in the USA-England football game at this year's women's World Cup. If they danced kazachok before going to Moscow would it be also "racist"?
-
Shouldn't it go to Final OQT (as it was during European Games)?
