    Lol they gave GBR a time of 4:28, the finish time of the third rider. They had a time that would have placed 6th at 3625m, they could have taken that one at least to acknowledge the damage.

    Disappointed by the German women, they barely did 1 second better than their countrymen at Athens 2004.

    I can't see why any country, who is capable of qualifying a team would support it, perhaps even more so if they are a smaller (in fencing terms) country specialized in a weapon only, like Estonia in epee, etc. And about groups, if the goal is to increase diversity in medalists groups are not the best idea- single elimination format makes surprises more likely to happen.

    Only the gold for Jacobs is worth +3 on my vote. And the second part of the Games will probably be even less enjoyable as usual.

    Team events and quotas are fully confirmed for Paris 2024 so that would mean a much smaller field in individual events despite the fencers being on site.

    About the shared gold, a jump-off with the current rules doesn't make much sense. It's not shooting, athletes get too tired to jump any higher and to decide the gold jumping again at lower and lower heights would be meh, worse than having two winners. If you don't want two golds, the only fair way would be a repeat the day after, with rested competitors- same for gymnastics and swimming (although there they could use thousands of seconds in extreme cases)

    Every Italian choking on finals or semis, time to cut to zero the funding in sports where we are useless and invest that money into mental coaching for the top athletes.
