  1. There were hours long daily livestreams from Mongolian school gyms.
  2. Nah, long live rankings wherever there is a well established world cup style circuit, as opposed to random qualifying competitions one in a while. Ranking fails mostly happens when they consider way too many lower level tournaments, with 3x3 basketball being the extreme case - a normal ranking with world cup + world series would have been much better, but they had to push for "universality" so... predicting is not their purpose though, rankings are only meant to tell who has been among the best in a certain set of competitions in a certain (past) period. Qualification tournaments, especially in sports with a draw and an elimination format, are a much worse way to find out who is the best
  3. will soon get medals everywhere, I think they could be 3rd in the medal count by LA 2028
  4. Why not starting from zero after the Olympics? Shouldn't the World Championships held between July 2020 and July 2021 be part of the "Road to Tokyo" ?
  5. Gold with 4.15m and podium with 4.05m in pole vault, maybe the lowest level ever?
  6. Yes, it's based on metaphysics - body and soul or something like that.
  7. Same for Italy, they are doing the last training camp until the 18th according to the federation's website.
  8. Bold prediction: the first B-boy to be olympic champion will be Lagaet
  9. Of not being a good fit to the role, like other fencers wrote. Yes
  10. The count is not really updated though? There have been lots of world championships since March 2020 which replaced previous WChs. Just looking at golds for example, ITA is missing Ganna's, FRA Alaphilippe's but should also have lost one in modern pentathlon, sailing, a couple in judo, maybe tennis?
  11. Indeed, that was the 2nd funniest thing of these Games- a Brit getting caught immediately after Brits complained that they had been beaten by someone who would surely be caught within days.
  12. This part is true, that's why it's basically turned into a nest of trolls.
  13. How? For Paris I count 156 men's events, 151 women's, the rest open or mixed.
  14. Ah yes, we should disqualify people based on what DeGambassi or Orangeman or OlympicsFan or other big experts think it's obvious, it' much more reliable and fair than doing anti-doping tests
  15. Gender equality for quotas can be worked out a bit...5 more quotas for men here, 10 there and so on, but events can't be created out of nowhere - and I guess the goal is to reach something like 45% men's, 45% women's and 10% mixed/open as soon as possible.
  16. "Are you hurt?" "But who gives a fuck now"...I think anyone who watched videos made from the stands of the first words between his coach and Jacobs after the 4x100 knew he was going to be out for a while. He might be doping but he's not the one who tested positive so far British journalists have to prove it instead of making vague references Ryan Murphy-style
  17. I think the pattern is clear for 2028. Rhythmic gymnastics will stay, the number of events in gymnastics is the same for men and women. Artistic swimming will stay as mixed, and greco-roman will go.
