  8. and we have the first quarterfinals pairings in the men's class... in the bottom half of the draw, in fact, we have Mshvidobadze vs Lee as the pool C final and Papinashvili vs Takabatake as the pool D final...
  9. in this case, it did't go that well for the home team...Pareto just destroyed the Azeri girl...meanwhile among the men, Safarov was eliminated by Papinashvili (GEO)... 10 intense minutes ended up with mixed feelings for the home crowd, I guess...
  10. wow! what a match and what an an ippon by Huseynov over Mudranov...the home fans are on their feet...and rightly so... and now the women's version of the fight AZE vs the Olympic Champion...Gurbanli vs Pareto...
  11. day 1 already over for Italy...both Carlino (men's -60kg) and Milani (women's -48kg) lost in the first round (against not so strong opponents, which makes it even more disappointing)... I think our participation would eventually be "cosmetic"... we have too few athletes at the start after very doubtful selections...and not so competitive... I hope Murakami's time as the head coach of our team would be over by the end of this championship...he's definitely not giving anything good to our team...

  16. actually this is the most important competition outside the Pro Tour (WSL), which is reserved to a small number of surfers coming almost only from the 4/5 powerhouses of the sport (26 are the "regulars")... p.s. Igarashi is a WSL Tour member...so, Muniz's success can be described as "very prestigious"... p.p.s. next year, this same competition will be the key event to earn an Olympic spot (apart from those reserved to the WSL tour specialists)...
  17. I guess most of the Italian guys next time round should have their training in Lourdes rather than Japan... what a nightmerish draw we had...
  18. because in Italy another tv network bought the tv rights... unfortunately that tv network has a very poor picture quality and, above all, there's no guarantee that they will broadcast the entire championship, especially the saturday and sunday sessions are at a really high risk of being ignored (or scheduled as a tape delay in the middle of the night)...
  19. 1) sure...but I don't know if it will be available in Italy, since Sportitalia bought the TV rights* and will broadcast the event (tomorrow they are scheduled to go live also in the morning -at about 10/10.30 a.m. if I remember well- for the late preliminary rounds)... we have to wait until tomorrow to know if we can only rely on the "Criscitiello band" (I already imagine what and when they will show something on saturday and sunday ) or we're lucky enough to be able to watch also the IJF streams... 2) the draw should be held later today... you'll find them here (when they'll be available): https://live.ijf.org/wc_sen2018/overview *p.s. if I think that last year we had the judo worlds on fox sports HD and this year they are on Sportitalia...
  20. no live scoring, but at least we have the live streaming for the finals... http://www.worldtaekwondo.org/competition/world-taekwondo-grand-prix/grand-prix-2018/taoyuan/live/ by the way, all Italians went out early as usual... Milani lost to Obame 16-3 in round #1, Rizzelli also was beaten by Polina Khan (RUS) in the first match...and the same Russian eliminated Rotolo in the second round of the competition (after Rotolo won against a Spanish girl in round #1)...
  21. @MHSN and @Dolby I just checked the UWW website...and I think that in the results page there's a mistake, not just 2 people with the same name... in the official entry list, in fact, the Indian guy in the -55kg is actually listed as Vijay Vijay, but the -60kg Indian wrestler is listed as Sachin Rana... https://unitedworldwrestling.org/article/three-reigning-greco-roman-junior-world-champions-registered-trnava2018 therefore I guess it was just a misunderstanting/mistake by the guys running the UWW site...
  22. surprising loss by Italy... but it's obvious that this tournament is not considered very important by our team, especially after the very successful World Champs and the long domestic season...
  23. Super Six Day #1 Results Czech Republic b. Italy 3-2 Great Britain b. Greece 7-3 Netherlands b. Russia 13-1
  24. Super Six Day #1 Results Italy b. Germany 11-1 Spain b. Belgium 13-1 Netherlands b. Czech Republic 7-6
