  5. I'm hoping for a Mollaei vs Muki semifinal (or bronze medal match)... I hope Gold goes to Italy...always...
  6. you'd better and have more respect of other people...
  7. c'mon, guys! I only inverted the 2 Countries...the medal count was correct... and now it's all fixed...
  8. thanks for sharing... I'm trying to understand all points of view (Mollaei's, IRI federation's, IRI politicians'...all of them), but I have the bitter feeling that this situation has been and still is being managed in the worst possible way by all the actors, especially IJF, who are trying to do something they really shouldn't, i.e. mixing politics with sports... I hope nobody get hurt too much after that...but I'm not so sure this story is gonna have a happy ending...
  9. well, but today at least it was close...Mannheim are the German champions and a pretty strong team overall (2 days ago they won 6-1 in Wien)...
  10. and finally Today the main league outside the NHL, the KHL, started... and it started with a huge surprise...Avangard Omsk took their revenge over last season's champions CSKA Moscow, winning the Season Opener on the Red Army's ice by a score of 3-1... it was a quite close game, with CSKA having the edge in the early stages and scoring first, midway through the 1st period... Avangard's against the flow tying goal came just a few seconds before the end of the same opening stint... and this proved crucial for the rest of the game, with CSKA unable to regain the control of the operations and being definitively shocked by the amazing goal scored about 5 mins into the middle period by Maxim Chudinov, who shot a true rocket from his own defensive zone and beat an astonished Johansson, clearly not paying enough attention to the play in that precise moment... CSKA's reaction didn't take them anywhere in the remaining 35 mins, when Avangard's goalie Bobkov earned his salary with a few great saves... however, it was too little by the reigning champions...and with a minute or so still to be played, Cody Franson sealed the unexpected win for the host with the most classic of the empty net goals... CSKA Moscow 1, Avangard Omsk 3 Game Summary https://en.khl.ru/game/851/81788/protocol/ Game Highlights

  12. nice... at least there's someone who can appreciate it...
  13. OK...probably I was messing it up between the 2 events... in any case, it doesn't change anything in my perspective about our NT... we don't have any chance to build a competitive Eight, so, better think about the races where we can do better...
  14. I trust you... I was sure that there was that rule...but obviously I'm confusing it with something else... p.s. there's always the chance that different rules were established for European and non European Nations...or I'm just wrong and stop...
  15. 2019 World Judo Championships Final Medal Table JPN, 5 / 6 / 5 FRA, 3 / 1 / 2 POR, 1 / 1 / 0 NED, 1 / 0 / 3 CAN, 1 / 0 / 1 GEO, 1 / 0 / 1 CZE, 1 / 0 / 0 ISR, 1 / 0 / 0 UKR, 1 / 0 / 0 RUS, 0 / 2 / 2 AZE, 0 / 1 / 1 KOR, 0 / 1 / 1 BEL, 0 / 1 / 0 CUB, 0 / 1 / 0 UZB, 0 / 1 / 0 BRA, 0 / 0 / 3 KOS, 0 / 0 / 3 GER, 0 / 0 / 1 GBR, 0 / 0 / 1 KAZ, 0 / 0 / 1 MDA, 0 / 0 / 1 MGL, 0 / 0 / 1 POL, 0 / 0 / 1 SRB, 0 / 0 / 1 TUR, 0 / 0 / 1
  16. the last medallists at the 2019 World Judo Championships... Mixed Team Competition Gold: Japan Silver: France Bronze: Brazil & Russia
  17. after Pyeongchang's disaster, this Tokyo schedule is going to be by far the worst in the Olympic history among the "televised Games" (from 1960 on)... c'mon! not even in the world cup stages we have 2 shotgun shooting finals on the same day!
  18. I don't know how big salaries are right now, but in the early 2000's (when we won our first and only women's world title) the stars of our NT (and the Top foreign players) in our league were payed as good as 3/400,000€/year... Egonu probably next year is going to earn even more than that... among the boys, Leon 2 years ago was making 800,000€/year (officially...rumors say that he was well beyond) and Zaytsev is not that far from such salary...
  19. I'm sure that 3 years ago it was not possible to keep more than 1 boat per gender (even if any Nation could start in all the races they wanted at the final regatta, just they had to reallocate those quota won in excess)... probably the Chinese case was a combination of Continental quota + final global regatta (or something related to reallocations)...
  20. 2019 World Cup, Stage #8 (Rio De Janeiro, BRA) Men's 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Gold: Christian Reitz Silver: Oliver Geis Bronze: Li Yuehong Olympic Quota: Pakistan, South Korea
  21. actually, nowadays all the shooting events are our worst events...and in rifle/pistol shooting we still have won only 2 quota so far... Mazzetti was a finalist here in Rio 3 years ago...and 1 of those few shooters who was supposed to earn an Olympic spot, sooner or later...but he failed once again (like Giordano in the men's Pistol and Zublasing -former world champion- in women's rifle events)... how can man be happy about our results in this sport in the last 2 years? moreover, shooting is a sport that I like and I normally watch every time there's a world cup stage and at the major world and Olympic events, so I want Italian shooters to be there, at least competing for medals (then, if they win it's better, but I'm still OK if they have at least a decent competition)... at the same time, I don't care at all if we are there or not (and even winning medals it's like if it does not happen) in sports I don't follow at all, like Rhythmic Gymnastics, Artistic Swimming, Equestrian Dressage, Tennis and so on...
  22. choker! choker! choker! Mazzetti is an absolute choker! how can you waste such an enormous chance to grab a quota place???
  23. 4 years ago it was that way, I guess this time it's gonna be the same... and yes, I know I'm really strict in judging gold medals a lot more important than anything else when it comes to olympic sports...but you must be ambitious if you really want to achieve a great result...if you start to get 3rd, there are a lot of chances you end up with a bitter 4th place or worse...
  24. as @dcro wrote, they are consolation prizes, which are not to be refused or underestimated, but still, they're just a "consolation" for those who do well, but don't get the real target, the one they dreamed of, the one they trained for... in any situation, in any scale there's always a bigger unit...and this must always be the main evaluation factor...then, you can also make a more accurate, a deeper analysis looking at the small details, but you must start from the main feature...
