  1. The story of this 16 year old Luke Littler is something else. Though, if you look at his stature, you wouldn't guess he is 16 . His run doesn't seem to end and is now leading Cross in the 1/2.
  2. Wait, so was this intentional or an accident Was he tagging behind her and then something happened or what?
  3. Preliminary entry list is out for the Euro, including USA for some reason. Don't they have their own continental championships some would ask. https://ewf.sport/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/BW.pdf
  4. The top 10 is out for Bulgarian Sportsperson of the year. The final ranking will be known next week on the 4th. You guys most likely know who these people are, so will skip writing their achievements Albert Popov (alpine skiing) Aleksander Vezenkov (basketball / Sacramento Kings) Aleksander Nikolov (volleyball / Lube Civitanova) Boryana Kaleyn (rhytmic gymnastics) Grigor Dimitrov (tennis) Yoana Ilieva (fencing) Karlos Nasar (weightlifting) Nurgyul Salimova (chess) Petar Mitsin (swimming) Stiliana Nikolova (rhytmic gymnastics)
  5. Is it Covid, or it wasn't specified? Fancy Amundsen now, but would be interesting of some non-Norwegian made a push for it.
  6. First ever women's event in Garmisch and we have 7 different countries in the top 7. The second round was very good with lots of nice jumps and frequent lead changes.
  7. A complete disaster for Norway right now, as all of their jumpers are losing the duels.
  8. The tradition here for many years was that gifts were given on New Years. This was true for my childhood as well. But in the last decade or so things changed and practically everyone does it on the 25th now.
  9. Happy Holidays to all members and their families Wishing lots of health and happy moments with the people you love.
  10. Albert with a fantastic 4th place after the first run, but in Madonna this doesn't mean much, since the gaps are so small. There is going to be some drama. I love skiing at night
  11. Looks like it's time to start boycotting teams again, which are associating with the CancerLeague..
  12. If you have thinking, that it's been a year without scandals in Bulgarian weightlifting, fear no more.. So, after a couple of attempts, including one stripped hosting 2 years ago, we are finally going to host the European Weightlifting Championships in February. It is of course included in the Olympic qualification calendar. All good so far. But on Friday, an adviser working for the Ministry of Sports was arrested for bribing the President of the weightlifting federation. He was asking for 30 k Euros from the President, so that the Ministry approves the funding of 600 k Euros for hosting the Euro Championships. This worker turned out to be the son of the National team coach. The next day, the coach himself - Ivan Ivanov, Olympic Champion 92, 4 times World Champion, was also arrested in suspicion of being an accomplice to his son.. The same National coach who has been on the helm for over a decade now and who the Federation have tried removing a few times in the past years. But every time the proposal of a new coach was brought up, almost all of the weightlifters, including Karlos Nasar, have said that they would boycott the National team, if Ivanov was not the coach. Given, that we have our biggest boom in the past 20 years, i'm not denying the work being done by Ivanov, but his relationship with the Federation was always very iffy. Not that those guys are some saints, not by any means, but you can never guess who's in the right. Let's see how things develop and if any charged will be pressed against him.
  13. Hi Sindo, yes it was the same when i signed out too. I checked through a different browser, which i don't typically use and all the forums appeared there. I cleared the cookies and data from my default browser and it fixed the problem. It appears, than when the arrows for collapsing / expanding the sections were removed, i had only the Winter Sports section expanded and that is the one, that stayed visible. The others, which were collapsed disappeared. Why did we get rid of those by the way? I found it very useful, because the pages were loading faster and then you could expand on the sub-forums you were looking for.
  14. Well that is an absurdly stupid thing to do. Didn't he know, that the American round is in March (jk)
  15. Maybe, but this isn't a problem for Bulgaria Everyone knows what's happening. Rutte was scapegoating this issue for years and years, sugarcoating and pleasing his voters to stay in power. Now that he is no longer in power, it doesn't concern him, so he can freely give his "blessing", just to do Wilders dirty. If Austria doesn't veto (but they will) Wilders doesn't have a say in it. If Austria vetoes, then next year Wilders can use it for his rhetoric anyway he wishes.
  16. Of course i wasn't meaning removing all of it. Work accidents, injuries, sickness, maternity leaves etc. should of course stay. I was talking about all the benefits, when you don't have a job and every immigrants dream of "We will pay until you find a job and settle in", which conveniently goes on for years. Or the case you said about working 1-2-3 months, than going away, because they will continue paying you welfare. People aren't stupid, they wouldn't be crossing half the world, if it wasn't a free giveaway. It's known south to Cape Town, east to India.
  17. Doesn't really matter. Regardless that 80% of such scams are being done by Gypsies & Turks, the people would still say it's being done by "Bulgarians", because that's what their passport says.
  18. When you go to Forums, are the different sections missing for anyone else? Or is it just me. When the latest replies end, it just goes to the Winter sports forums directly. Nothing before, nothing after them?
  19. Hey, don't blame the people, blame the system. The "welfare" system has been a problem for 10+ years in Western/Nordic Europe. Just get rid of it. Beside all the flock from Africa / Asia, that comes for it, it cannibalises the workforce from Eastern Europe. Do you know how much damage is done, because of people going there to live on welfare. They don't even have to transfer it here. They just stay in NED doing nothing, instead of being in BG working ...
  20. I'm surprised someone not named Dave Ryding or Charlotte Banks gets snowsport attention in Britain
  21. What a difference a proper downhill course can make for the excitement of the race. My heart warms when seeing those 2 minutes on the clock, not that cop out 1:20 we had on Thursday. If a DH isn't clocking 1:40, then it's not a real DH.
  22. So, Rutte is (finally) out of the picture in the coming weeks and all of a sudden NED has no issues letting BG in Schengen Two-faced politicians, surely this hasn't happened before.
  23. He recovered 2 months ago from the operation he had in April. This was his first official competition. Things are not at all certain for the Olympics. In terms of winning i mean. The competition is very tough and also BG athletes have the tendency to panic at big events. He can fumble the snatch and then not be able to catch up.
  24. I propose to have the whole season in Bansko. There are no storms here and could even send some of the snow.
  25. We are doing many 1/2 and finals, which is unusual for our swimming history. Granted many big names are not here, but it's still a sign of the positive development of the sport.
