Agree. But canceling half of the DHs and not having where to replace them is also an issue. A season with only 4 DH equally devalues the World Cup. They tried optimizing the calendar with making technical and speed weekends, but that works when we run everything normally and cancel 7 out of the first 10 events.. Now they can't catch up, because the speed weekends are already stacked up and you can't add to resorts, which are having only GS & Slaloms.

Biathlon isn't usually a sport, where the calendar is a problem, but interesting where to put the German rounds, so they don't have problems every year. Early January was great for them 10-15 years ago. A nice idea for me would be to move the World Championships to the last third of January. Have 1 World Cup after New Years, then a week off, then the 2 weeks of the Worlds. You could then schedule the 2 German rounds in February. But IBU wouldn't like to go against the Australian Open i reckon.
