  1. New rules look good, though i would prefer keeping the men/women balance of the nations, preventing potential stacking of french men or norwegian women for example.
  2. Everyday on the briefings here, Slovakia is given as an example. "We are dealing with the situation very good. In Europe we have the second lowest number of deaths, only after Slovakia, which are the only who have handled the crisis better than us."
  3. So UCI's plan is to have the whole season crammed into 2 months. That seems smart
  4. But in this case, political history is the best and probably only way to categorize defunct countries. Yugoslavia was the successor to the Kingdom of Serbia after WW1. They gained territories with ethnic Croats, Slovenians etc. and they changed the name of the country. There was no official country of Croatia, Slovenia etc. before the 90s. All medals won by Croats, Slovenians were won, when they were part of an established historical country, whether it was Austria-Hungary or Yugoslavia. " The Olympic Committee of Serbia, created in 1910 and recognized in 1912, is deemed the direct successor to both Yugoslav Olympic Committee and the Olympic Committee of Serbia and Montenegro by IOC, and therefore the inheritor to all the records of the defunct nations." http://oks.org.rs/istorija-olimpijskog-komiteta-srbije/?lang=sr-latn "Both FIFA and UEFA consider the Serbian national team to be the direct and sole successor of the Yugoslavia and Serbia and Montenegro teams." https://www.uefa.com/insideuefa/member-associations/association=srb/ Let's say in 10 years Bavaria wants to split from Germany and be it's own country. Will all the medals won by current Bavarian athletes stop counting toward Germany's overall record. Of course not. Those medals were won, when they were part of the country Germany. When Bavaria splits, they become their own country, without any inheritance, because their former political state still exists. They start from scratch. It is the same for Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia etc. They were provinces, which gained independence and started from scratch. They can't have any claims to former records, because they broke from Yugoslavia, and what was left continued again as Serbia. The same thesis should be applied to the Soviet Union and Russia. The republics were all part from the Russian Empire up to the end of WW1. The West tried to dismantle the Empire, but the Republics combined again (bar the Baltic States) almost instantly, but this time it was called the Soviet Union. Ukraine, Belarus, etc. never competed separately until the 90s. at the Olympics. Russia is considered a legal successor of the Soviet Union, while the rest started writing history as new nations.
  5. Is she wrong though? Tennis is the major sport that has male and female athletes competing regularly together. Being a lonely sport, always jumping from one tourney or country to the next, i am inclined to believe there are a lot of one night stands. There are legends of the low tier ITF tournaments and the shacking that happens there.
  6. They change the articles almost every day, but still here is today's one. UEFA and the clubs organizations have presumably reached an agreement to restart the domestic leagues in late june / early july and then the Champions League and Europe League in august with a potential one match knockout until the end. Then the new football season should start in september.
  7. Yugoslavia is different, because the now nations inside it were much more even. While in the SU 80-90% of the medals were from athletes from modern Russia. The only right thing is to have historians break down the athletes from the now defunct nations and add the medals to the current ones. This is something that i have wanted to see for many years and as a statistics buff really annoys me.. You can't have an accurate all time medal table, when Russian athletes (medals) are counted in one, two, three, four teams, while China for example has all in one. The same goes for other nations. The table should be adjusted to maximum value each present country with it's historical merit.
  8. East and West Germany is different, because they were 2 nations both gathering medals from the same Games. It would be historically unfair to count them as one. West Germany's medals should count towards unified Germany. While SU and Russia is different, because they were only one team at a time, just one following the other.
  9. 1. This is only Summer Olympics. 2. Soviet Union and Russia should be counted together, no matter how the IOC wants to twist the history. 3. You can try making videos of athletes with the most medals, or golds, or videos of the different sports, or the nations. There are many choices for such videos.
  10. I am not disregarding any genre. That includes country, which has very good songs i may add. I'm just saying the variety of music has drastically dropped in the last 10-15 years. All mainstream songs sound pretty much the same. If i have to look through three sites, 5 charts down, 2 editors opinions to find good songs from different genres, then there is definitely a problem.
  11. So basically all music from 2010 till now.
  12. The debates are going to be the best movie of the year.
  13. Biden is the guy, who is almost 80 years old and has clear signs of dementia. And he is the favourite of the democratic voters. God i love America.
  14. Yes please, i already have a country and song in mind.
  15. I want permission to vote for Aitana on every contest from now on
  16. Hmm, this is interesting. I 'll try to do it, when i have some time.
