I hope Riitta-Liisa Roponen get a decent top 10 result. That, in combination with a relay medal, would be absolutely perfect ending of her career.
Speaking about the exotic nations, it won't be as exciting as the men's race, but there are several points of interest:
Marija Bulatovic will be the first Montenegrin XC skier of any gender at the Olympics.
Elsa Gudrun Jonsdottir, Karen Chanloung and Claudia Salcedo will become the first women from their nations to take part in an Olympic XC competition. Chanloung is also the first Thai XC skier of any gender since 2006.
Maria Cecilia Dominguez will be the first Argentine female XC skier competing since 1992.
Ri Yong-Gum will be the first North Korean overall XC skier competing since 1992, and the first woman to race over 10km distance since 1964.
