  1. Turns out Bulgaria has eligible shooters in both women's rifle events and women's trap. If they really declined the spare pistol quota, instead of exchanging it for one in rifle/trap, then the federation made a massive blunder. EDIT: I see now they exchanged it for trap. Phew.
  2. I got it for like 3 euros before Pyeongchang and still pay the same price monthly. I feel lucky.
  3. But probably 8th July or something. FINA likes to be the last.
  4. Any more info about their withdrawal...? Namibian medal chances are done and dusted following this...
  5. Surprised to see that Valette and Qing du Briot have not competed internationally since August 2020. I guess he holds a lot of credit with the French selectors, though, so their selection still wouldn't be surprising.
  6. Bilo bi dobro pogledati tko od muških ima najbolje rezultate u mješovitim parovima. Ako se ne varam, Dodig i Mektić tu imaju više uspjeha od Pavića?
  7. Great, so the long-awaited official list is not even official.
  8. Plenty team announcements today... Hong Kong - Individual eventing - At 20 years young, Tayberry will be the oldest horse in Tokyo. Russia - Team dressage Tatyana Kosterina (Diavolessa) Aleksandra Maksakova (Bojengels) Inessa Merkulova (Mister X) Reserve: Maria Shuvalova (Ilyumzhinov Famous Cross) Russia - Individual eventing Aleksandr Markov (Leader) Andrey Mitin (Gurza or Kartel) Let's hope Andrey chooses Gurza. I recommend searching for a video of their XC ride from Rio (there is a replay on the Olympic Channel). Gurza proudly represents those notoriously brave Russian horses. Great Britain - Team dressage Charlotte Dujardin (Gio) Charlotte Fry (Everdale) Carl Hester (En Vogue) Reserve: Gareth Hughes (Sintano van hof Olympia) Great Britain - Team eventing Laura Collett (London 52) Tom McEwen (Toledo de Kerser) Oliver Townend (Ballaghmor Class) Reserve: Piggy March (Brookfield Inocent) Hey, I have autographs of two (Collett - below, and McEwen - above) of these British eventers! Given the competitive selection, I guess the odds of that were pretty small back when I won this in 2019.
  9. Like I said, nobody in the IOC actually cares about gender equality (especially when it concerns developing nations where the equality is very limited). They just want to make themselves look good.
  10. Šest tenisača potvrđeno. Postoje šanse za dva mješovita para.
  11. March 2017 Europeans - 27th 2018 Worlds - 10th 2019 Europeans - 15th Canter 2017 Europeans - 5th 2018 World - 1st And much like Brookfield Incocent now, Quarrycrest Echo too was a media darling in his time...
  12. World rankings are grouped by riders so they are pretty useless tbh (for the championships selection). Having multiple horses at higher levels helps your rank tremendeously. Not to forget that Ros Canter dropped in rankings after taking a baby leave in 2019 (which is literally the only thing someone could have used against her, since her competition record aboard Allstar B has been spotless since winning the double world title...). Here we enter a pretty bleak territory. This selection was always going to stir controversies, since there were too many options to choose from, so yeah... But still I can't fathom the fact that a new and relatively inexperienced combination (even if hyped) of Piggy March & Brookfield Inocent got ahead of Canter and indeed King.
  13. British eventing team named. Oh boy. What a mess. World Champion Ros Canter is not going. Not even as a reserve. Laura Collett got selected despite her spotty XC record (famous drive-by in Aachen, followed by taking a dive at the European Championships). Sure, she would make any other team, but this is still controversial. And as expected, Kitty King stayed far away from Tokyo. Despite placing 2nd at the last selection-observation event. Not surprised. She has by far the smallest fandom / media frenzy of the lot.
  14. It's weird. When you open the Road To Tokyo page, the filter shows 'men's 100 m', while it is the women's 100 m list that is being displayed automatically. To display the men's 100 m list, you need to choose another event on the filter, and then choose men's 100 m again... I seriously believe this could be a case of forced gender equality creating a software bug...
  15. But now Armenia can enter an universality woman, as they did today in the 100 m.
  16. 6 athletes / 7 horses are listed on the nominated entries. But without the star power they had in 2018/19.
  17. Well, this is pretty ironic. Daniel Bluman will not be going to Tokyo because his horse was mistakenly listed as an American on the transfer deadline. https://www.worldofshowjumping.com/en/News/No-Olympic-Games-for-Israel-s-Daniel-Bluman.html Israeli team will be pretty weak now. Probably going for the 19th-20th place with China. Good on FEI to deny his appeal though. Anything else would have been a travesty considering Italy and Slovakia had to pay for the same error. @hckošice "The FEI also submitted exhibits of email exchanges indicating that they had always refused similar requests as that of Bluman." Yeah.... I can imagine Slovak federation was one example.
  18. Anonymous source? What is this, Watergate? At any rate, it's interesting how 112 quotas can be created out of thin air when football needs it.
  19. Central African Republic missing out would be sort of weird? Mauritania missing out not so much I guess. Neither country has entered any of the post covid qualifiers from what I can remember.
  20. Rank order bias. Performances can only ever be compared to the preciding ones, not the ones that follow, and there is a tendency in humans to overemphesize novel positive features (like for example when we are out shopping and comparing things). Another thing is that at a start of a competition, judges may be more reluctant to award minimal deductions. Of course these judges are professionals, but it can add up, sometimes resulting with athletes going late in the draw getting more leniency.
  21. Well, Marthe Koala got in instead.
  22. Belarus - Individual eventing Aliaksandr Faminou (Martinie) Alexander Zelenko (Carlo Grande Jr) Athletes have the same name, but different (latinized) spelling?
  23. Wikipedija nije još potpuna, ali po njoj bi trebale biti unutra, pod uvjetom da ih je savez uopće prijavio.
