  1. Evloev beat the great Artur 5-1, no technical point it was all cautions. Artur somehow flee the mat on parterre and I think he deserved the caution. he was very angry at the end. I'm not sure if he comes back to wrestle for bronze tomorrow. (assuming Evloev will go to the final) I was expecting more from two of best Greco wrestlers in the world but the thing is, scoring is really hard in high level matches in Greco-Roman specially in heavier weights.
  2. they are both in top 16 of the world obviously and technically deserve to qualify but well wrestling (and sport in general) is not always about what do you deserve. there is a seeding system but that's not working properly and both Vlasov and Nemes will be unseeded. and they are not the only favorites in the competition. the German guy who almost beat Vlasov is good, Azerbaijan, Moldova, Turkey, Belarus, Ukraine they are all good enough to upset one of those two guys. but there will be one last chance in Bulgaria too. Nemes and Vlasov have to finish in top 2 in one of these tournaments. (EQT in HUN or last WQT in BUL) same goes to all wrestlers not qualified yet including the Iranians ! but our job is a BIT easier because the Asian qualifier is not as hard as the European one. still much much harder than other continents.
  3. there is a "Confidential" mark on top of each PDF file. hopefully they are not going to arrest Sindo (or you) for that.
  4. only top 2. that's why the draw matters a LOT. you can be the 2nd best guy in the competition and still face the best guy before the final and fail to qualify.
  5. Finals: 55kg: Sefershaev vs Kilic 67kg: Dadov vs Abdullaev 72kg: Amoyan vs Korpasi 77kg: Vlasov vs Levai 87kg: Maskevich vs Chakvetadze I expect Russia to win 4 golds tomorrow, they just take this event seriously like a World Championship. Nouri was really disappointing today, even in his 2 wins. 87kg is relatively weak in Asia but with this performance I'm not even sure if he qualifies the weight, of course the situation wasn't normal because of the COVID and Nouri himself spent few days in the hospital and based on the news (which I have hard time to believe) his situation was critical at some point. 77kg SF between Vlasov and Nemes was controversial. the Serbian coach should get a red card and disqualification if it wasn't in Serbia. even though I think that last caution against Nemes wasn't really fair but Nemes himself won so many matches by dubious cautions like this. both Nemes and Vlasov are not qualified yet, it's 50% chance for them to be in the same half at the European qualifier.
  6. Semifinals are set 55kg: Dordokov vs Sefershaev / Deleanu vs Kilic 67kg: Politaiev vs Dadov / Ibragimov vs Abdullaev 72kg: Arslan vs Amoyan / Korpasi vs Mnatsakanian 77kg: Nemes vs Vlasov / Levai vs Zeinalov 87kg: Maskevich vs Datunashvili / Nouri vs Chakvetadze ---------------------- olympic champion Davor Stefanek took of his shoes and left them on the middle of the mat after losing to Abdullaev in 67kg quarterfinal. that means retirement. a bit weird only 7 months before the Olympics.
  7. I didn't know Davor Stefanek is capable of such throws, his throws against Stas (Bulgaria) were fantastic. let's see what he can do against Russia in the next round. and Azerbaijan losing to Algeria in wrestling is something new Olympic champion Vlasov also just survived the German guy Eisele. he has to beat Chalyan and Nemes today if he wants to make it to the final.
  8. that's the 4th match of tomorrow on Mat A. something around 11:30 am (Belgrade time) the competition starts on 11
  9. Brackets are up in all Greco-Roman weights https://unitedworldwrestling.org/event/individual-world-cup and guess what, we will have the most interesting match of the competition right in the first round! Evloev vs Aleksanyan tough draw for both Iranians here but that's OK, this is more like a preparation tournament, so it's actually better to wrestle more top guys.
  10. this will be probably the first wrestling competition with TV coverage in Italy and without one in Iran has it anything to do with Chamizo's recent results ? or just some random decision because there was nothing else to show at the time I wonder if Chamizo and other guys can improve the popularity of wrestling there. I'm not a big fan of Minguzzi's success in Beijing (for obvious reasons) but I remember Giovanni Schillaci for example. even Vincenzo Maenza. Italy has some history in this sport. I'm really disappointed we don't have a big team here but still I'm really glad that wrestling is back. even limited. we had our own league matches + the trials but international wrestling is always more "fun".
  11. Entry list for the "individual world cup", of course it's not guaranteed if all of these guys show up. https://unitedworldwrestling.org/article/individual-world-cup-entries much more than what I was expecting. actually they could make it a World Championship. pity. obviously we would have more wrestlers if they didn't change the competition title. for example Iran is only sending a 4-man team just to satisfy UWW. they wanted to send a full team if it was a World Champs, we even had our trials in middle of the pandemic. 3 of these 4 wrestlers are our possible candidates for the Asian Olympic qualifier. from big wrestling nations, are absent, is sending a reserve team, as well as are sending limited number of wrestlers. from what I see the most interesting weight is 97kg Greco with both Aleksanyan and Evloev in the list plus some other good guys. btw I see some more Russian wrestlers for Bulgaria. interesting, Bulgaria itself was a victim of other countries stealing its athletes, but now they are importing instead of exporting! this is kind of disappointing for a historically great wrestling nation. and none of these guys are in the highest level as far as I know.
  12. good luck to have a big event like this only in 5 months ! but who knows this is Thailand, they love to host big events like this. apparently things are free there, and they don't have to worry about the costs but let's imagine COVID will disappear before May, it seems they throw everything they had to the program. Wai Kru, really ?! that's a dance before the Muaythai competitions ! ASEAN chess ?! Drone racing ?! (that's demonstration though) Mixed sepaktakraw ?! this is new , IOC will love the idea! the selection of weights for combat sports is also funny, doesn't make sense in most sports. I assume they only pick weights where there is a "decent" Thai fighter. Wrestling (excluding traditional wrestling) has only 4 events, 2 FS, 1 GR and 1 Women I never heard of such thing in my life. and why exactly 67kg GR and why not another weight ? I really hope we will have this competition in May but that's really unlikely. Asia is in trouble to find hosts for its Olympic qualifiers. nobody in Asia (except our rich friends in Persian Gulf) is interested to host anything these days.
  13. as far as I know they cancelled the competition. and the Asian quota will be decided by the World Championships results but I'm not sure about this part ! but I'm sure there will be no competition tomorrow, I would know about it.
  14. thanks now I have a better idea about it. I have to repeat that I know almost nothing about Sailing the sport almost doesn't even exist here.
  15. Thanks, I will have hard time to find an equal word in Persian for that. it sounds like something expensive and beside that how come something like this can have TV coverage ? TV guys are going to race with them the entire weekend ?
  16. Can someone explain what's the difference between offshore sailing and normal sailing ? this is one sport that I know almost nothing about.
  17. I was kidding actually I just wanted to say that such thing is not really popular in Asia. and yes I totally agree with you. these events should have decent World Championships for so many years in first place (with at least 40-50 NOCs participating) before even asking to be in the Olympic program.
  18. it's not popular in Asia, and it's not in the Asian Games program. only in the minor multi-sport events and almost only whenever Thailand hosts it ! as of today BMX freestyle had never been in the AG program. even Skateboarding only made it to the AG after IOC approved it for Tokyo 2020. don't blame Asia for IOC's delusions
  19. what's the procedure for 2028 LA Olympics sports programme ? as far as I know all "core sports" were in the Olympics program until the 2024 Paris. when and how they are going to decide about it ? do we already know that ?
  20. Today is 9/9/99 in the Persian calendar. to me it doesn't mean anything special. but believe it or not there are "so many" people trying to have their babies exactly today. and that means early C-section https://ifpnews.com/luxury-birth-date-tragedy-happening-again-in-iran-as-9-9-99-looms in middle of a pandemic and all other disasters we are facing nowadays I don't know what you will gain in your life by having a "Luxury Birth Date" , there is no limit for stupidity
  21. I wonder how much money the host will save by having less 12 athletes in the games village! 10 billion dollars I assume or maybe 20 billions
  22. yes, 99%. but IWF has to finalize it too. we knew about these guys from months ago since IWF (unlike all other federations) publishes the list of doppers very soon, even before IOC finishes the process. ---------------- oops, this is a different matter, doping from 2012 Olympics won't be counted here, (I mean that rule about 3 doping inside the Q period = disqualification from the Olympics) but Romania has 3 other guys waiting for their verdict, once that's finalized, Romania will be banned too.
  23. ITG confirms what I wrote about Vietnam, they will most probably be banned from the Olympics https://www.insidethegames.biz/articles/1101033/vietnam-weightlifters-caught-doping
  24. Here I see two new Vietnamese weightlifters being added to the suspended list https://www.iwf.net/anti-doping/sanctions/ there is another guy TRINH Van Vinh in 2018. from what I googled he tested positive on November 2018 after the start of the qualification period. if I'm not wrong 3 dopers during the qualification period means being banned from the Olympics. they already banned Egypt, Thailand and Malaysia because of this rule. is Vietnam next or I missed something ? Colombia and Romania also have open cases (to make it 3 or more), if confirms, they will be banned too. meanwhile IWF updates the list of ADRVs (from 2008 to 2020) Romania now has 20 and will be reduced to 1 male and 1 female (of course if IWF doesn't ban the nation entirely) NOCs limited to 1 male and 1 female NOCs limited to 2 males and 2 females no need to say that some NOCs in the list are banned completely, but IWF still keeps them in the list.
