  1. so injuring people unintentionally is no different ? that was stupid and reckless but obviously that wasn't intentional not trying to defend him, I just want to learn the rules.
  2. what's the rule here exactly ? players should not throw the ball to the air after the game ?
  3. hopefully Egypt will be able to have the event with fans in the stadiums. I don't like to get used to watching important sport matches in empty stadiums !! oh yes, I think I'm getting old how come I forgot that match I remembered they beat Japan in the final (final for not finishing last)
  4. Is it a sure thing that the tournament won't get cancelled ? and what about the stadiums ? behind the closed doors ? or there is still chance to see some fans in the stadiums ? btw I assume top 12 teams will earn extra quotas for their continent, almost all Asian teams will be in the same group in the 2nd round. so if one of them beats Argentina, Asia will have 5 spots in the next WCh. I assume Doctor Congo and Angola are no match at least for QAT and BRN.
  5. 16 years ago some crazy guy stopped Vanderlei de Lima from (probably) winning the Olympic gold in Athens 2004 men's Marathon race. I was reading the story and couldn't understand what he was trying to say ? The Grand Prix priest. Israel fulfilment of prophecy, says the Bible. The second coming is near. what's the prophecy ? is this something anti-Israel ? what's the relation between Israel and Jesus's return ? pardon my ignorance but I never had to read the bible
  6. The contract was something genius, people have to teach that in schools as the worst contract ever! if I'm not wrong there was a section about if Iran FF terminates the contract with legit reasons they have to pay 3 months of his salary and if Wilmots terminates the contract with legit reasons still IFF has to pay 3 months of his salary ! I'm sure nobody every saw such a thing but IFF couldn't pay him for 2 months because of the banking sanctions, (he had the right to terminate the contract if there was no payment in 2 months) he left the team right before Iraq match, they put 2 million euros in suitcases and send that to Turkey , convincing him to lead the team for that specific match, he came back 2 days before the match and he screwed up the team, but then he left, asking FIFA for the whole money because there is "no legit reason" here ! bottom line, he knew he will get the whole money the moment he singed the contract, he was a conman and tricked those idiots to sign such a thing, he was just looking for a reason to leave and ask for the whole money. this photo summarizes everything in this case
  7. FIFA sanctioned Iran football federation to pay 6.5 million Euros to Marc Wilmots ! they already paid him 2 million euros for leading Iran NT for only 4 matches, and what happened ? beating Hong Kong and Cambodia and losing to Bahrain and Iraq ! I'm quite sure any human in the world wouldn't get worse results than him. and considering the fact we can't play at home with spectators for a very long time (thanks to COVID-19) Iran's chance to survive the WC qualifiers is very slim. (FIFA postponing those matches was the only good news) Iran FF will bring this to CAS but based on previous experiences most of those judges always (99.99%) rules against Iran. by default. those from Iran FF who signed his contract deserve a medal for being extremely stupid, they will never can pay such money, (unless the government helps) when they singed with that Belgian charlatan 1 Euro was something like 50,000 Rials. now it worth 4-5 times more ! and Iran is not going to qualify for the WC and they can't count on that money from FIFA too. paying that amount of money is simply impossible considering the current situation. btw, Wilmots is indeed a conman, he never cared about the team, I really hope nobody signs with him anymore, this is probably one of the most expensive contracts in history of the national teams. 8.5m Euros only for 4 matches !
  8. wow. that was extremely scary.
  9. My answer is always the same ! I'm looking forward for everything at the Olympics while our own athletes are my priority but I watch as much as I can ! as many sports as I can. I try to not miss a single final. (I know sometimes that's impossible)
  10. five weeks, wow. I'm glad she is OK. I know it's really hard to deal with that when your loved ones are in danger. yes we had the same situation here, I know at least two cases among my relatives that someone got infected but people living with him didn't get it.
  11. I moved in with my parents to make sure they don't have to leave the house that much since the start of the pandemic, I moved back to my own place the moment I heard the news today. but my sister had some contacts with my parents too (not much but still) and I had lots of contacts with them in past few days. that's my biggest concern. they are still completely fine though.
  12. highest number of death for Iran with 235 today and it's just getting worse. finally after 5 months Tehran province is declared today as "red zone", my town is in red zone for more than a week though. I'm convinced that probably alongside USA and Brazil we will be the last countries to solve this virus thing. (unless a vaccine changes things) guess what Iran, USA and Brazil have in common ? and personally the worst news is my sister is showing symptoms, (still no confirmed test) and she was with me on Friday (probably the only mistake I made in past 5 months) and I'm coughing too. (well I cough a lot so it can be nothing but you know the power of mind) and I will quarantine myself completely to see what will happen.
  13. why ? they will qualify one male quota (Fares El-Bakh) but that's it. per new rules athletes win quotas, not NOCS, but they also can't change their NOC in middle of the qualification.
  14. I don't think so because she will miss the Olympics if she switches nationality, her Olympic points belong to Latvia.
  15. Curling , really ? I think I'm the only person in this country maybe searching sometimes about the winter sports and I don't think I watched Curling that much that should be Alpine or Figure skating. btw is there any chance for Ice Climbing to be added anytime soon ? I mean somewhere in my life time ? that's the only "winter" sport we can be somehow competitive. and maybe in that case people here finally realize Winter Olympics even exist.
  16. well I just went to the next block buying something wearing a mask, that's the longest distance I can go these days. does it count ?
  17. sorry but this is stupid to even think/talk about boycotting the Olympics in 2020 ! and this is funny , it mostly comes from countries who claim nobody should mix sports with politics. well yes off course it's only bad when the others do that.
  18. well that doper beat Ghasemi in the QF (by ball draw in both periods, didn't really score on him) before meeting Dlagnev (he pinned Dlagnev in less than a minute) and Ghasemi later beat Dlagnev in the bronze medal match. even without that doper Dlagnev still wouldn't made it to the final ! he had to face Ghasemi in the SF.
  19. actually I did that for Beijing 2008 and let's say the final outcome wasn't great for my personal life even though I never regret that .
  20. then that's a good news for India
  21. I wonder who did the test ? Indian Anti Doping system or WADA/IWF ? because if it's WADA, he will be at least India #2 doping case during the qualification period, which means they are 1 more positive test away from being banned from the Olympics, which is important because this time India has a very good chance for medal in women's weightlifting. from what I see India also has another case in August 2018 but I assume that won't be counted because the qualification started from November 2018.
  22. Yes and he is still the Wrestling Russia President. and he just doesn't look like a mobster. he is a mobster
  23. only if he gets elected to be honest it's always better to see former wrestlers in these positions. much better than guys who never set foot on a mat in their entire life ! from that list I only know 3 of them as former wrestlers, and one of them Mikhail Mamiashvili is a kind of mafia boss. that leaves only Sourian and Daniel Igali. -------------------- in another news, IOC decided to give joint gold medals for 2012 Olympics super heavyweight. both gold and silver medalists tested positive and there was no rule in UWW regarding a situation like this. they modified the rules and from now in a situation like this both bronze medalists will be upgraded to the gold medal position. that means Komeil Ghasemi and Bilyal Makhov will be both Olympic Champions. UWW initially only awarded the gold to Ghasemi just because he lost the eventual gold medalist ! which was nonsense. this will be the first time in more than 124 years of history of wrestling at the Olympics to award two gold medals
  24. and there will be nobody to challenge Nenad Lalovic for the president position. he will be UWW president for 6 more years. while I'm not 100% happy with them and UWW is still not clean but he was much better than that corrupt Martinetti guy.
  25. Things are getting worse and worse here, and we are back to square 1 like February/March with almost 150 deaths per day with more than 2500 infected. and that's just the official number. who knows what's the true number. and exactly like 4 months ago everyday we hear news about famous people getting infected too, celebrities, athletes, politicians. from today wearing mask is mandatory ! (even though I don't know how they are going to "force" people into that) , 7 provinces are in critical situation and 7 more (including where I live and also Tehran where I travel regularly) are almost in critical situation ! and that means half the country, we have 28 provinces. while to be honest I don't care much about the politicians (well except only few of them) I do care a lot about our athletes, Iran football league started something like 10-12 days ago and now half players from those two teams played the first match are tested positive for coronavirus ! it will probably take few more days to hear the same thing about other 14 teams. (I hope I'm wrong though) and last but not the least, one of our current top wrestlers is in critical situation Hossein Nouri, 2017 world bronze medalist and 4 times Asian Champion. I don't know how bad is his situation but moving him to the best hospital in Tehran and to the ICU doesn't sound good.
