  1. This is so sad . Thankfully the structure has been saved. It’s amazing how watching something that you have zero connection to can make you feel this numb.
  2. Road to TISC Annual - Mexico 2019 Part 2 of today's edition of "Road to TISC Annual 2019" sees us remember more two-time TISC artists. Algeria's Nabila Dali not only had the honour of representing the north African nation on two occasions, but her debut appearance at TISC Annual 2015 proved to be a hugely successful one. "My Dream" took home 118 points from the international juries, placing Nabila in 5th place on the final scoreboard, a result which still stands as Algeria's most successful contest to date. Algeria - Nabila Dali 2-time TISC artist Nabila Dali has a PB of 5th at the contest TISC Annual 2016 - Nabila Dali - My Dream (Eǧǧet-iyi ad arguɣ) TISC Annual 2018 - Iddir Salem ft. Her entry "I Break Again" took Azerbaijan to 13th place on the TISC Annual 2015 scoreboard and still ranks as Azerbaijan's best result to date. TISC Annual 2015 - DiHaj ft. Isfar Sarabsky - I Break Again TISC Annual 2016 - DiHaj - Complain Czech Republic - Kryštof Czech rock band Kryštof has twice represented the nation at TISC We conclude today's "Road to TISC Annual 2019" edition by remembering Czech band Kryštof who competed at the contest on two occasions. The band participated at TISC Open in 2014 and returned once more at TISC Open in 2017. Sadly this remains the last time that Czech Republic participated in the contest. TISC Annual 2015 - Kryštof - Atentat TISC Annual 2015 - Kryštof - Svedomí
  3. Road to TISC Annual - Mexico 2019 We continue our "Road to TISC Annual 2019" series today by celebrating more artists who have multiple appearances at the contest. Up first in Part 1 today, we have Ana Moura, Zdob Si Zdub and Prāta Vētra, to be followed later in Part 2 by Nabila Dali DiHaj Kryštof Portugal's Ana Moura has twice represented her country at the TISC. Her debut came at the TISC Annual 2016 where she came home in 19th position. However, her return to the contest two years later at TISC Open 2018 saw her secure a top 10 placing for Portugal, finishing in 9th place and a haul of 104 points from the international juries. Portugal - Ana Moura Ana Moura is a 2-time contestant at TISC TISC Annual 2016 - Ana Moura - Dia De Folga TISC Open 2018 - Ana Moura - Desfado Moldova - Zbob Si Zdub Moldovan band Zdob Si Zdub competed in 2015 and 2018 When Moldova made their TISC debut at TISC Open 2015, punk band Zdob Si Zdub was given the honour of representing the nation for the first time at TISC. Loredana & Лигалайз - Balkana Mama Latvia - Prāta Vētra Prāta Vētra is the sole Latvian participant to date Prāta Vētra was given the honour of representing Latvia on both occasions that the nation participated in TISC. Their debut came way back at the inaugural edition at TISC Open in 2013 and they returned to the TISC stage again 1 year later at TISC Open 2014. Their return proved to be a success with the band delivering a 7th place finish for Latvia with 130 points. TISC Open 2013 - Prāta Vētra - Rudens TISC Open 2014 - Prāta Vētra - Maybe
  4. Road to TISC Annual - Mexico 2019 Part 2 of today's Road to TISC Annual 2019 edition we continue looking at the artists who have made 3 appearances at the contest. Guyana's Eddy Grant made an instant impact on TISC when he debuted at the very first edition of the contest back in 2013. "Gimme Hope Jo'anna" charmed the international juries and claimed an impressive haul of 167 points, enough for a 4th place finish, just outside of the medal positions. Eddy Grant made 3 consecutive appearance at the TISC Open (2013-2015) but sadly, Guyana has not been seen on the TISC stage since that final appearance of Eddy at TISC Open 2015. Guyana - Eddy Grant Eddy Grant made 3 consecutive appearances at TISC Open (2013-15) TISC Open 2013 - Eddy Grant - Gimme Hope Jo'anna TISC Open 2014 - Eddy Grant - Killer On The Rampage TISC Open 2015 - Eddy Grant - Electric Avenue Argentina - Chano Moreno Charpentier Chano has competed both solo and as part of a band Argentine artist Chano Moreno Charpentier has a distinguished history with TISC. Not only has he competed in the TISC Annual on 3 occasions, he has been entered as both a solo artist and as part of a band. The first 2 of Chano's TISC Annual appearances was with the band Tan Biónica, whose TISC Annual entry in 2014 is the most successful of his 3 entries to date, placing 7th with 120 points. His most recent entry was a solo effort and once again saw Chano enter the top 10. Naistumichiu finished in 8th position with a final haul of 118 points. If the trend continues, Chano will be due to return to TISC at the next TISC Annual in 2020 (he has appeared every second year at TISC Annual). TISC Annual 2014 - Tan Biónica - Ciudad Mágica TISC Annual 2016 - Tan Biónica - Hola Mi Vida TISC Annual 2018 - Chano! - Naistumichiu Tunisia - Myrath Myrath will represent Tunisia for a 3rd time in Mexico this year At this year's TISC Annual in Mexico, Tunisia will put their faith in metal band Myrath for a third time. Myrath delivered Tunisia's best result to date at TISC when their entry "Believer" claimed 4th place at the TISC Annual in 2016. Myrath returned a year later with another strong performance, placing 13th at TISC Annual 2017, which is also Tunisia's second best result at TISC. So will it be 3rd time lucky for Myrath this year? TISC Annual 2016 - Myrath - Believer TISC Annual 2017 - Myrath - Endure The Silence TISC Annual 2019 - Myrath - Dance
  5. Road to TISC Annual - Mexico 2019 In this edition of the Road to TISC Annual 2019 series are showcasing the artists who have made multiple appearances at the contest. We take a look now at the artists who have 3 appearances under their belts, an impressive feat. Part 1 includes Kensington, Sakis Rouvas and A.R. Rahman and Part 2 will have Eddy Grant, Chano Moreno Charpentier (Chano! / Tan Biónica) and Myrath. Kensington has three times been selected as the Dutch entrant for the TISC Annual and although they have not tasted podium success, they have delivered a string of solid results. A 10th place finish at TISC Annual 2015 was followed by two 11th place finishes at TISC Annual 2017 and 2018 and Kensington has a scoring average just shy of 100 points. Netherlands - Kensington Kensington has made 3 appearances for the Netherlands TISC Annual 2015 - Kensington - War TISC Annual 2017 - Kensington - Do I Ever TISC Annual 2018 - Kensington - Bridges Greece - Sakis Rouvas Sakis Rouvas is a 3-time TISC artist Sakis Rouvas made his TISC debut at the inaugural TISC Annual edition back in 2014. 6. Road to TISC Annual - Mexico 2019 With no fewer than 5 artists making their return to the TISC stage this year for another shot at glory, this year's "Road to TISC" series will take a look at the artists who have made multiple appearances at the contests. We start by looking at the most prolific TISC performer to date in terms of number of appearance. Inna has represented Romania a whopping 4 times, making appearances at both Annual and Open editions. She also guided Romania to their first and only medal to date when she finished in bronze medal position at the incredibly tight TISC Open edition in 2015. Inna was still in contention for victory going into the final vote in that edition with her song "Amazing" so it's no wonder that Romania have placed their faith in her again and again.... Romania - Inna Inna has made 4 appearances at TISC TISC Open 2015 - Inna - Amazing TISC Annual 2016 - Inna - Yalla TISC Annual 2018 - Inna ft. Erik - Ruleta TISC Open 2018 - Inna - Sun Is Up
  7. Great last stone by Matsumura to secure a 3 for Japan in the 4th end of the bronze-medal game. Hoping Japan can do it, love this team
  8. I decided to do a playlist of all my TISC 12-point picks to date. It's a varied bunch in terms of musical genres but each had that something special. As of yet, the choice of the Irish jury has not gone on to win the contest. The choice of Malta (TISC Annual 2018) was largely at odds with the rest of the national juries (I still can't comprehend how such a great song didn't score much better), but Italy (TISC Open 2013) and Brazil (TISC Annual 2017) finished with silver medals and Canada (TISC Open 2016) finished with a bronze medal. Hopefully this year we can match with the eventual gold medal winner. Here are the songs that took the maximum score from the Irish national jury at each of the first 11 editions of the contest. Feel free to make your own 12-point playlists too to re-live more memories.
