Not a surprise, since the actual games is planned to be longer than 30 August, before authorities realized that 31 August is Eid-al-Adha which is really important in Malaysia and other Muslim majority countries. But usually they will push unpopular event to finish first.. Dunno why they do that with archery and synchronized swimming (where Malaysian athletes have a high chance of gold)

The staff are actually struggling because they updated the results so late and the website doesn't help at all. Fan page has been flooded with complaints and "hateful" comments, particularly Myanmar fans. I think Singapore as the last host set the bar too high by providing Olympic-grade website, where results updated almost instantly after events ended.

I think almost all sports are just medal contests, unless the one you can't help like athletics where everything just integrated.

What concerns me in this event is the absence of flagpoles for medal ceremony... At least use that long-black-remotely pulled bar or anything close to that. So basically yesterday Indonesia has made a new history in swimming after Siman Sudartawa reached the semifinal of 50 m backstroke. He is the first Indonesian swimmer to do that. Despite finishing last in SF (15th overall), it is still a new National Record.

It is very normal in Indonesia, even social medias are able to give better coverage for events like this. I ran a FB page with my friends to share the 'forgotten' Indonesian athletes achievements, which is only able to have 10-25% likes from famous badminton pages (around 13k likes)

I hope in 2021 we can send more than 5 athletes
