  1. Go Flammingo!! Happy to see him back in potential medal form I had never heard of his Chinese opponent though.
  2. What else could Vingegaard do except for following? We all know Pogacar is more explosive on the attacks. I feel like as soon as it was clear they were going for the stage win, this was the logical outcome. The Pinot climb was incredible, I wish he had won as well.
  3. Amazing race! This makes Klaver the second Dutchwoman ever to break 50 seconds, with Bol being the first.
  4. Great finish to the decathlon! Rooth taking the win over Skotheim and Roosen sprinting to the finish to take bronze over Meyer. Another good day for the Dutch, with medals for Van Daalen, Bouju (0,01s away from gold!) and Roosen.
  5. I didn't catch the relays, but based on the commentary it sounds like the Dutch relay failed a baton pass. However, still a great result for the Dutch. This 1500m win for Nillessen is a major upset and surprise!
  6. Great battle between Vanninen and Dokter in the heptathlon. Both can still take the win today! Vanninen used to be the strongest in this age group, but Dokter has really caught up and is working on a great heptathlon with 2 PBs already yesterday.
  7. Interesting that our first and only medals are in 200m breast stroke, suddenly we are specialising in breast stroke ever since Kamminga's success. Gold and silver in the same event might say more about the lack of competition than the strength of the Dutch swimmers though...
  8. IFSC World Cup Vilars Lead Men 1. Jakob Schubert 2. Adam Ondra 3. Alexander Megos Women 1. Janja Garnbret 2. Jessica Pilz 3. Brooke Raboutou
  9. Val di Sole Elite Cross Country World Cup Men: 1. Nino Schurter 2. Mathias Fluckiger 3. Vlad Dascalu Women: 1. Puck Pieterse 2. Martina Berta 3. Rebecca Henderson Pieterse just rode away in the first lap never to be seen. Again! This season is really way beyond what I expected from her, even if I knew she was a huge talent.
  10. Kelderman just had nothing left to close the gap. Hope it doesn't harm the team dynamic too much...
  11. I read on this thread that - went to five sets, but I didn't know the result when I went to watch the highlights on youtube. Luckily you can always figure out who's going to win quickly because they basically only show highlights from the winning team, even in sets where they're down in points. Well played ! Our team is honestly doing better than I thought, despite this loss. It's basically a whole new team from a few years back and it's finally starting to feel like there's a new basis to build on with players like Dambrink, Timmerman, Baijens, Knollema, Marring and Reesink. @CCB do you really think Dambrink is already the best player on the team? I'd say that title still goes to Daalderop. I wish Daalderop was a bit more of a leader in the field though, considering her experience compared to most of her teammates.
  12. The Netherlands really managed to draw 0-0, 1-1 and 1-1 in a completely winnable group. So many missed chances, we're really lacking some clinical attacking talent (including in the senior team).
  13. 1st place, 2nd place and 4th place for the Dutch dancers. I'm liking this extra medal chance more and more with every tournament
  14. Can any Fencing experts of the forum inform me if this rare Dutch succes in fencing is worth anything? Looks like most big names are missing right? Does Tulen have a chance to qualify for the Olympics?
  15. No commentary on the triathlon stream really makes for another rather dull viewing experience...
  16. Myrte van der Schoot broke the NU20R 400m that Femke Bol set in 2019 (52.98) last weekend, with a 52.88 at the junior national championships. Second place Britt de Blaauw also ran the 3rd place time of the all-time U20 leaderboard (53.27). Loving the competition in our 4x400m teams, everyone is really making each other stronger right now!
  17. Now that you mention it, has actually won all four world cup stages on the mens side. They really are huge favorites. Meanwhile Shriever has won three out of four of the womens world cup races. I feel like the competition is closer there though.
  18. Agreed! The Netherlands for example have played close five set games vs already.
  19. Papendal World Cup Stage 4 Men: 1. Joris Daudet 2. Sylvain Andre 3. Mateo Carmona Garcia Women: 1. Bethany Shriever 2. Saya Sakakibara 3. Alise Willoughby No Dutch medals on the second day in Papendal. One hopeful result however is Jaymio Brink reaching his second final in his debut year in the elite men field.
  20. I heard some of you were worried about the lack of Polish fans at the European Games. But do not worry, I found them! I had a great time at the Volleyball Nations League in Rotterdam today. The Polish fans sold out the stadium at - and were 10x more present than the Dutch fans at - . And some really great games as well! Sadlu the Dutch lost in the end.
  21. Course preview for the European Games/Championships with the Dutch team: (Pieterse)
  22. I could only catch the final three events today, but just happened to catch some great performances by Seedo, Bouju and Vloon!
  23. I think the combined European Championships in Glasgow and Munich basically prove this point. They felt bigger to me than the European Games.
