    One substition for Joep de Mol in the Dutch team due to illness. Meanwhile an early 1-1 on the scoreboard. Hard to follow on radio commentary while my gf is driving though

    Happy for Corbeau and Kamminga, disappointed by the 4x100m. Though I have to admit, a 9th place is probably closer to the true power of our relay than the 2024 world championships.

    Amazing game by the Swedish team!! Norway took the lead just before halftime and Sweden grasps back the victory in the final 15 mins. Very high level handball on display! Congratz @Belle ! This team is definitely a medal contender if they play like this.

    I'm watching handball at the moment, but I had exactly the same feeling yesterday. It was very watchable and decently easy to understand (though no idea when something was 2 points and when it was 5), but felt just 5-10 minutes too short.

    Interesting, there was a Dutch handball commentator on Eurosport all day, but apparently his work day ended before - . Gotta listen to the English now. Equal game in the first 10 minutes.

    Dank hiervoor trouwens! Fijn om wat meer duiding te krijgen bij de loting. Bij judo kom ik vaak niet verder dan 'zolang het geen Frankrijk of Japan is, moeten we wel kunnen winnen'. Toch bijzonder dat Van Lieshout, volgens mij onze best geplaatste judoka, zo'n lastige loting heeft. Maar ach, om Olympisch kampioen te worden moet ze van iedereen kunnen winnen

    Wanneer is de shootoff eigenlijk? Is dat dan op de dag van het mixed toernooi pas? Ik had verwacht dat het direct na de plaatsingsronde was, maar toen bleef het stil. Edit: ik lees net dat we al verloren hebben

    Hmm dat klinkt wel als een flinke uitdaging inderdaad. Top 10 is ook meteen van een hele andere orde dan de plekken 30-40 waar Schloesser eigenlijk de gehele plaatsingsronde bleef hangen. Nu is Wijler wel echt ons beste boogschutter en nogal een koele kikker qua omgaan met druk volgens mij. Laten we hopen dat het lukt!

    Ja ik vond Angola ook sterk spelen. Fysiek waren ze duidelijk sterker dan Nederland. Ik denk met mijn beperkte handbalkennis dat wij weer wat beter uit gaan komen tegen teams die minder fysiek zijn en meer op snelheid spelen. Nu lekker - kijken. Poulewedstrijden van mogelijke tegenstanders kijken is zoiets waar je tijdens de Spelen zelf nooit tijd voor hebt, maar heel leuk voor dag -1

    First win for after a surprisingly close and messy game versus . Polman, Abbingh ans Malestein are the last three starting players from our world champion team and they are still clearly the most important in the team. I saw Abbingh the least of the three today, which is good, now she is still fit for carrying the flag tomorrow

    I fear our young girls Roeffen and Van der Winkel really felt the Olympic pressure. #55 and #59 is really lower than I had expected them to rank. Hopefully Wijler can at least secure a mixed team spot with Schloesser (#35).

    Ja een teleurstellende kwalificatie tot nu toe. Na de 5e ronde zojuist zakt Schloesser ook weer verder terug. Benieuwd of Wijler het vanmiddag beter doet, zodat er nog enige kansen resteren in het mixed toernooi.

    Schloesser is the best at 26th after 24 arrows. Slight improvement, but not very promising yet.

    First update puts the girls at 29th, 37th and 49th. Not a very promising start. 11 sets of 6 to go!

    The first athletes in these Olympics! Go Schloesser, Van der Winkel and Roeffen!! Quincy Roeffen is also one of our youngest athletes (18), I believe only India Sardjoe (17, breaking) is younger than her.

    Pretty comfortable 14 - 11 lead by halftime. Despite some very good goalkeeping on the Slovenian side.
