  1. Val di Sole Elite Cross Country World Cup Men: 1. Nino Schurter 2. Mathias Fluckiger 3. Vlad Dascalu Women: 1. Puck Pieterse 2. Martina Berta 3. Rebecca Henderson Pieterse just rode away in the first lap never to be seen. Again! This season is really way beyond what I expected from her, even if I knew she was a huge talent.
  2. Kelderman just had nothing left to close the gap. Hope it doesn't harm the team dynamic too much...
  3. I read on this thread that - went to five sets, but I didn't know the result when I went to watch the highlights on youtube. Luckily you can always figure out who's going to win quickly because they basically only show highlights from the winning team, even in sets where they're down in points. Well played ! Our team is honestly doing better than I thought, despite this loss. It's basically a whole new team from a few years back and it's finally starting to feel like there's a new basis to build on with players like Dambrink, Timmerman, Baijens, Knollema, Marring and Reesink. @CCB do you really think Dambrink is already the best player on the team? I'd say that title still goes to Daalderop. I wish Daalderop was a bit more of a leader in the field though, considering her experience compared to most of her teammates.
  4. The Netherlands really managed to draw 0-0, 1-1 and 1-1 in a completely winnable group. So many missed chances, we're really lacking some clinical attacking talent (including in the senior team).
  5. 1st place, 2nd place and 4th place for the Dutch dancers. I'm liking this extra medal chance more and more with every tournament
  6. Can any Fencing experts of the forum inform me if this rare Dutch succes in fencing is worth anything? Looks like most big names are missing right? Does Tulen have a chance to qualify for the Olympics?
  7. No commentary on the triathlon stream really makes for another rather dull viewing experience...
  8. Myrte van der Schoot broke the NU20R 400m that Femke Bol set in 2019 (52.98) last weekend, with a 52.88 at the junior national championships. Second place Britt de Blaauw also ran the 3rd place time of the all-time U20 leaderboard (53.27). Loving the competition in our 4x400m teams, everyone is really making each other stronger right now!
  9. Now that you mention it, has actually won all four world cup stages on the mens side. They really are huge favorites. Meanwhile Shriever has won three out of four of the womens world cup races. I feel like the competition is closer there though.
  10. Agreed! The Netherlands for example have played close five set games vs already.
  11. Papendal World Cup Stage 4 Men: 1. Joris Daudet 2. Sylvain Andre 3. Mateo Carmona Garcia Women: 1. Bethany Shriever 2. Saya Sakakibara 3. Alise Willoughby No Dutch medals on the second day in Papendal. One hopeful result however is Jaymio Brink reaching his second final in his debut year in the elite men field.
  12. I heard some of you were worried about the lack of Polish fans at the European Games. But do not worry, I found them! I had a great time at the Volleyball Nations League in Rotterdam today. The Polish fans sold out the stadium at - and were 10x more present than the Dutch fans at - . And some really great games as well! Sadlu the Dutch lost in the end.
  13. Course preview for the European Games/Championships with the Dutch team: (Pieterse)
  14. I could only catch the final three events today, but just happened to catch some great performances by Seedo, Bouju and Vloon!
  15. I think the combined European Championships in Glasgow and Munich basically prove this point. They felt bigger to me than the European Games.
  16. I'll be watching the volleyball nations league live in Rotterdam this weekend! And hopefully also some Euro U21s football, European Games and BMX world cup.
  17. Olympic qualification really starting to heat up this summer! Thanks for keeping track of everything @Benolympique
  18. IFSC World Cup Innsbruck Boulder Men: 1. Sorato Anraku 2. Meichi Narasaki 3. Sam Avezou Women: 1. Janja Garnbret 2. Natalia Grossman 3. Miho Nonaka Lead Men: 1. Sascha Lehmann 2. Alexander Megos 3. Jakob Schubert Women: 1. Janja Garnbret 2. Ai Mori 3. Jessica Pilz It's worth watching the highlights of this tournament just for the gorgeous setting and crowd in Innsbruck!
  19. I've talked about 18-yo talent Niels Laros before. He's having an absolutely stellar season once again in 800m, 1500m and 5000m! Yesterday he equaled the 1500m Dutch senior NR of 3:32.89. He equaled a 22 year old national record at 18 years old
  20. Those are some big names to defeat for Van Klinken! Hope she can maintain this steady form, after winning the NCAA championships as well recently.
  21. IFSC World Cup Brixen Men: 1. Dohyun Lee 2. Sorato Anraku 3. Toby Roberts Women: 1. Natalia Grossman 2. Chaehyun Seo 3. Stasa Gejo Didn't look like the strongest field this world cup. I was surprised to see Adam Ondra down at 19th place in the mens semi final, looks like maybe an injury.
  22. Lenzerheide Elite Cross Country World Cup Men: 1. Nino Schurter 2. Alan Hatherly 3. Jordan Sarrou Women: 1. Loana Lecomte 2. Anne Terpstra 3. Alessandra Keller Nino Schurter finally wins his 34th world cup to definitively pass Absalon as the most succesful rider in the world cup! They've been tied on 33 victories for almost a year by now. And Schurter does it on homeground in Switzerland! Meanwhile Pieterse finishes her second world cup in 5th. This is turning out to be a stellar debut year for her already!
  23. Yet another NR for Tes Schouten on the first day of the National Championships in Amersfoort! 200m breaststroke in 2.21:71, her third PB and NR this year. This time would have been a medal in both Rio and Tokyo. Really excited to see what she can bring in Fukuoka next month.
