The Race to Paris miscalculation drama entered a new chapter with FFBaD now wants both French pairs qualified.

Not sure how they will deal with this, for sure 17 pairs will be causing problems in the group format. Even if they created a special preliminary match between both French pairs, an extra headache might happen if the Popovs win (since it will open an extra MS quota)

Whom do you feel is likely to take the Universality quotas. Will it be :NEP and :TLS in men and :MDV and :ESA in women?

In rowing the timings are not always the best indicators, as a lot of external factors affects the race. Weather, course , wind speed etc

Lets hope the rowing federation fills up forms for them to participate in the world qualifiers. If memory serves me right we didn’t send a team for last world qualifiers for Tokyo qualification.

I am aware of that rowing timings are based on natural factors and thus there is no 'World record' similar to athletics as no two courses are the same. I only mentioned we have a chance of additional quota and there's no harm in participating in last qualifier

Balraj Panwar qualifies in M1X ( Singles Sculls) by taking one of the 5 quota places in the Asian continental qualifiers.
This is our 1st Rowing quota & total contingent size now goes up to 70 in 12 sports

Still have hope for LM2x qualification. In 2023 World Championships, the last spot was taken by :MEX who did 6:26.49, then it was :BEL with 6:28.49, then :NZL (6:28.66), :GER (6:31.08). While pair of Arvind Singh and Arjun Lal Jat did 6:28.18 in Asian Games and 6:30.11 in Asian qualifiers, so we can assume they can do 6:30 again.

Also :BEL hasn't won a quota yet and is entering European qualifiers in LM2x event.

FYI there are two quotas available for Final qualifiers

    So fingers crossed!!

Looks difficult, will be great if we can equal/just exceed Tokyo numbers.

A lot depends on how many we qualify in Athletics & qualifying 4x400 men & 4x400 mixed is a must for that.
If we can get a quota in Gymnastics at asian qualifiers then we will match the 18 sports for Tokyo.

@hckošice the struggle is getting real. I wasn't joking when I said it won't be easy for us to win many medals. Wrestling, Hockey, Weightlifting, Out of form Sindhu, Far from convincing Lovlina= 7-6=1 Neeraj.

This coupled with endless federation issues, politics, highest unemployment rates in decade, lack of grassroot funding, poor anti doping awareness, and lack of public interest outside cricket.

Don't worry, ab ki baar 10 medal paar

Why did it take days to get to Bishkek?

Deepak Punia and Sujeet were training in Dagestan in first 2 weeks of April. Their flight to Bishkek was booked earlier via Dubai and they were to fly on 16th April. However, due to flood situation in Dubai they neither got flight nor any hotel to rest thus had to stay in the airport itself. Our rest of the wrestlers were in India and took a direct flight to Bishkek

I'm confused too. I thought to qualify both boats in the same gender meant both needed to win?

Its not required to win the race, just within the qualifying spots is enough. In Africa, :ALG finished third in Men's Single Sculls and first in Women's SIngle Sculls and qualified in both boats

I’m just saying you said it yourself. You can predict that India will qualify two boats here, but having it as an expectation while also saying that Hong Kong will be a contender is puzzling.

If Results from 2022 Asian Games are simulated, then quotas look like this
    Men's Single Sculls - :JPN:HKG:IND:KAZ:IRI

    Men's Lightweight Double Sculls - :IND:KOR

    Women's Single Sculls - :UZB:TPE:PHI:HKG:KOR

    Women's Lightweight Double Sculls - :UZB:INA

Nacra 17: Siddeshwar Indar Doiphode / Ramya Saravanan

Realistically, only Nethra Kumanan is good enough to qualify. Surprisingly, pair of Varun Thakkar and KC Ganapathy who qualified in 2020 in Men's Skiff and participated in 2023 World Championships are not here

Its a shame we are not sending any women scullers, not for qualification purpose but for experience. We lack so much in our women’s rowing programme.
Hopefully we can get the men’s quotas.
Do you know if we are sending a team for sprint canoe asian Olympics qualifiers?

We did send a team for World championships.

We are sending two women in Para rowing. I think we didn't want to qualify in women's rowing by 'accident'. Atleast we sent a women's team in Asian Games
