Good news for :SRI I guess? Would be their quotas to lose if they compete at the qualifiers (I think they didn't in 2020)

Only 1 male player from :PAK had participated and no player from other South Asian countries in women's section. I guess this time it shall be a historic qualification for a South Asian country as well

  2. Now for the women's team rankings  including Singles rankings. This is merely an indicator as  obviously rankings changes for 40 x 3 players would be a mammoth exercise. 4 teams would qualify via rankings. So this is my rankings scenario

Rank NOC Feb pts WTT 2022 Singles Feb Mar pts WTT 2024 Singles Mar
    1 Thailand 1788 492 918 2298 1072 848
    2 Poland 1534 492 420 2148 1072 454
    3 India 1994 1072 672 2106 1072 784
    4 Sweden 1400 492 622 2030 1072 672
    5 Portugal 2416 1464 574 2024 1072 574
    6 Puerto Rico 2666 1072 1158 1902 308 1902
    7 Singapore 2652 1464 492 1762 574 492

:POL players would benefit from the WTT 2024 and each of the players would see a 20 pts rise thus increasing their individual ranking and also team ranking. :POR misses out due to singles ranking as their No 2 player Shao Jieni has massive 175 points expiring in the next ranking cycle

  3. Did a superficial analysis on Men's Team including Singles rankings, obviously rankings changes for 40 x 3 players would be a mammoth exercise. So this is my rankings scenario

Rank NOC Feb pts WTT 2022 Singles Feb Mar pts WTT 2024 Singles Mar
    1 Slovenia 2420 1072 848 2356 1072 784
    2 Croatia 2316 1072 622 2316 1072 622
    3 India 1942 1072 492 1870 1072 470
    4 Iran 936 226 332 1810 1072 360
    5 Hong Kong 2660 1464 574 1770 574 574

Because it was mentioned by the ITTF that this WChs will affect the ranking in singles via converting points using some formula, but I don't give a damn how it works. But singles ranking will be changed

Documentation of how ranking points of team tournaments are assigned to individual players. Look at 3.1.2.

So, new PSR should be :USA:IND:AUT:SWE:HKG:POR

So, :IND with SR 13 would get 784 points (Total points: 2106), :SWE with SR 15 would get 672 (2030) and :POR with SR 17 would get 574 (2024)

Infact Poland would be at 2114 (assuming same SR). So, by my calculations :POR is the one who will miss out.

Why would the SR get renewed. There is a calculation of how team points are distributed among individual players, but I don't understand it. Have you taken this into account and can you show the actual calculations

With :IND:SWE and :POR losing, all three would have same points from WTT.

From Continental Competitions: :IND has 250, :SWE 286 and :POR 378.

    Now onto Singles:

    New total for :IND (Singles ranking 15) : 1136, :SWE (SR 16) 1005 :POR (SR 17) 760

    :HKG (SR 12): 866 :AUT (SR 13): 1023 :USA (SR 14) 1272

So, new PSR should be :USA:IND:AUT:SWE:HKG:POR

So, :IND with SR 13 would get 784 points (Total points: 2106), :SWE with SR 15 would get 672 (2030) and :POR with SR 17 would get 574 (2024)

Infact Poland would be at 2114 (assuming same SR). So, by my calculations :POR is the one who will miss out.

So does qualification hopes for any one of :BAN:NEP:PAK:SRI increase in Women's singles

  7. So the Rnd 16 teams have been decided. Assuming that group winners are also the quarter-finalists, those who qualify are :JPN:SLO:KOR:POR:GER
This leaves four teams who can qualify by rankings, heres my rankings scenario
    1 - :TPE 3570 pts
    2 - :CRO 2316 pts

    3 - :DEN 2084 pts
    4 - :IND 1942 pts

    9 - :GBR 1410 pts

    1 - :THA 2358 pts

I'd be surprised if they'd use venues outside Queensland for cricket. Carrara stadium seems like the most likely venue.

Melbourne stadium has 100k capacity, Adelaide - 55k, Sydney - 48k while Brisbane is 42k. Any India games is more likely to be sold out.

But the organizing committee knows best in terms of scheduling and logistics but Indian fans would love to watch in these stadiums

I don't see anything terribly wrong with using QSAC for athletics and still having the existing Gabba for the ceremonies and cricket (because lets be honnest, cricket is going to be at the 2032 games :P )

Australia would definitely want Cricket to be in the Games, they are good enough in men's section and miles ahead of anyone among women teams. Also, it's likely to be 8 team tournament from expected 6 in 2028.

Also iconic stadiums are in nearby Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney.

Additionally, Australia tourism target Indian tourists by promoting cricket tournaments. Olympics Cricket tournament shall boost tourism from India as well
