  3. The IBU recently held a Junior Camp in Pokljuka. Short individual Youth winners - Manon Gabriel (BEL) and Matija Legovic (CRO). Short Individual Junior winners - Enkhchimeg Davaadulam (MON)and Uros Lalovic (BHN). I know the focus was on smaller biathlon nations, but that is a cool looking winners group. Their success this summer might continue the ball rollling in their nations for further funding.
  4. Your are right, there are about 12 venues at most that have a chance of a WC stage. I doubt that Canmore and Soldier Hollow get one again for a while. With about 6 there every year, that does not leave much space. With Lenzeheide moving into the rotation, at least for now, there will be even fewer.
  5. I agree. I bet they simply do not have some of the things necessary for a WC stop.
  6. Former Russian biathlete Alexander Tikhonov has signed an agreement with Turkey to help them host a World Cup race in Erzurum.
  7. That is odd, the link is not same one that it used to be. It was the biathlon when I originally posted it. Kind of funny. Try this one - https://tv.aftonbladet.se/video/333619/mora-ski-festival Women: 4:24:00 Men: 4:24:0-
  8. Actual races in Europe on snow! In Sweden there was a 4.5 k Super Sprint at the Mora Ski Festival. None of the big names were there, but it was biathlon on snow! Women's race Men's race
  9. Lydia Zhurauskaite has renounced her Russian citizenship, and received Lithuanian. She started training with the Lithuanian team this Summer. Her great grandfather was Lithuanian.
  10. Pretty Cool photos of Snow Farm in NZ. It makes me excited for the season.
  11. Congrats to Lithuania! I would love to see the Regional Baltic Cup Competitions shift between these three. Great for development of the sport.
  12. I think that I saw that Kahlili did not race, and Garanachev is in some hot water as well.
  13. Here is Biathlon NZ's. The important parts are here, the rest is in the attachment. fulfil one of the following eligibility criteria in accordance with IBU’s Qualification System for Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games (“IBU Qualification System”): (i) 180 IBU qualifying points or less as of January 2022 (after World Cup 5); or (ii) during the Qualification Period, compete in two (2) competitions earning 140 IBU qualifying points or less at the IBU Cup, Open European Championship, World Championship and/or World Cup in the Biathlon Sprint or Individual Events; (iii) during the Qualification Period, achieve two (2) finishes in the top half of the Junior World Championship; or (iv) during the Qualification Period, achieve one (1) result from each of the eligibility criteria ii. and iii. above; Nomination-Criteria-Biathlon-New-Zealand-Final.pdf
  14. Campbell Wright of New Zealand was given one of two wildcard spots for the first two rounds on the World Cup. He is now 19 years old. If he were to earn enough points, he would be the 2nd Olympic biathlete from New Zealand. Diana Sidorova, a Russian biathlete, is attempting to get her Ukrainian citizenship in time for the World University Games in December.
  15. I tried to follow it, but I just could not understand who was whom. I am looking forward to races on snow.
  16. Andrejs Rastorgujevs the 33-year-old Latvian biathlete, who has several podiums in the World Cup, has been punished for 18 months for not showing up to multiple drug screenings.

  18. Benny Wegner and Elisa Gasparin both win the Sprint and Short-Individual in the Swiss Summer Nordic Championships.
  19. Martin Fourcade festival races were lots of fun. The women's mass start provided a great two standing shoots. Austrian Summer Championships were also this weekend. Italians, Germans, Poles and even some Austrians!
  20. Good point, so with that, Davidova will continue her rise! I actually think that she is one of the top 7 or so that will challenge for the overall when Eckhoff eventually comes back to earth.
  21. I agree, with so many people not there, who knows. But that being said, props to those who competed and won.
  22. Was today a first for Belgium? I do not remember another medal that they won.
  23. I somehow skipped over her on the start list. Sorry about that one.
