Twenty-eight sports included in youth-focused LA28 Initial Sports Programme - Olympic News (olympics.com) here you are, originally they were proposed as replacement for Weightlifting, Boxing and Modern Pentathlon, but if the three with the great heritage reinstated it doesn't mean they will drop surfing, climbing and skateboarding as they became part of the core program.

Climbing still there, I think it became a permanent sport. very nice one and fits in the olympic program in my opinion too.

Honestly speaking Breaking is not a bad sport.. it’s not my type but it claims a lot of attention from young generation specially atmosphere of the competition is very nice and adds amazing and attractive beauty to the event

I think this is a good idea no surprise would happen between the awarding date and the new sports announcement date .. so why not it’s clear from day one and votes go to a host + sports

My take about this suggestions: - Baseball / Softball are popular in USA and all fields are ready to host and will attract a lot of audience - same with Lacrosse and Flag football but to a bit less extent - Cricket is very popular in Asia and economically a great choice with decent number of Fans worldwide - Squash is a great surprise.. very cheap to setup a court anywhere.. I guess it has been selected to balance the situation with some European countries like happy for & .. hope they claim few medals

some news from Moroccan sports pages claiming that Italian Karate Federation received a letter from WKF saying Karate is outside LA 2028 program.. I don’t know how genuine this letter is would appreciate any confirmation specifically from Italian friends

The Pan American Games will provide direct qualification quotas for the following sports: Archery Artistic swimming Boxing Break dancing Climbing Diving Equestrian Handball Hockey Modern Pentathlon Sailing Shooting Surfing Table Tennis Water polo In addition to Athletics & Swimming which are direct qualifier if the athlete meet the standard cut Some other sports serves the qualification rankings but not direct qualifiers. To answer the last question from experience with African sports federations: let’s say it .. if it happened we would be the first people said it… if not .. nobody is taking us seriously anyway 😜

You know how difficult to get correct information for any African event the announcement of african games was saying the volleyball is a qualifying event.. since it’s not a direct qualifier for sure that means it will be counted towards ranking (could be totally wrong though) for challenger cup it was counted towards ranking in 2023 do you know why not in 2024 (or it will be after the cut off date?) appreciate if you could clarify.. and thanks for your help

African games and challenger cup both will be counted towards the world ranking

What a comeback.. specially the 4th set but both teams are still far from competing in high level yet

my take on that if someone has not participated in a manadatory event (like WCH 2023) he/she is out of the ranking list immediately regardless of the previous results.
