    As far as I know Abokahla didn’t gain a lot of weight to play in 96 .. easy to return back to 89.. but you know the non-Olympic category is much easier competition (generally speaking) regarding his position is not very secured in 89 category they said it’s secured by continental quota and actually he just moved down 1 position

    Karim Abokahla just entered 96kg competition to secure a medal.. he will return back to his Olympic body weight class (89kg) the 2 Egyptians on the 102 list would be yasser and Mahmoud (who competed today in 96 kg category) Mahmoud is just 18 yrs so I presume he competed to gain experience

    Based on Egyptian Boxing Federation facebook page: " IOC said it's unlikely to broadcast the quarter finals on Wednesday, but they will stream the finals only" who exactly said that or is he a reliable source? ..no idea !

    Round of 32 and 16 still ongoing for all weight categories, no surprises from yesterday contests. today is the remaining of round of 16. tomorrow is off and the quarter final which will be broadcasted on IOC channel (I hope) will start on Wednesday. following up results is a nightmare, waiting each NOC to announce on their facebook page its athletes results !! ..and you can expect if he/she was defeated nothing posted

    Portugal? Mediterranean ? ..personally I always think that Portugal belongs to Mediterranean culture and ethnic group so I am happy with that but geographically is not a Mediterranean country! also is a landlocked country both participated before but as a host city not being on Mediterranean is a bit strange!

    hahaha ..it should show DNS at least the (D) is right .. Kata team and rowing team both failed to get visa on time and didn't fly to Greece

    I'll go with your predictions as they are realistic (some different opinion regarding the order but not major) from yesterday results two surprises: W 60KG -Felestars defeated Nesrin Amine 3-2 M-71 Maina depeated Rabii by KO !!! Rabii is the bronze medalist from Rio and played profissional boxing afterwards! remaining results are expected

    it means missed also qualifiation to 2025 world championship, huge disappointment for them. now has a great chance to top the african ranking if they claim gold in this edition

    that was the case in Tokyo qualification and was disqualified.

    that makes sense, my expectation is close to yours 49kg, 71kg and+87kg (but not dicounting 81kg). however, someone like Lui Shifang in 59 kg category, she has not great margin with Konotop from but she is solid and not easy to come close to her total lifts... anyway, good luck for your team and wish the best athletes to be slected

    Legally you’re correct but with the new testing methods which can detect more substances I doubt those samples were actually clean.. but of course can’t change the rules 🤷‍♂️

    The announcement said the sample she tested positive with is from Russia lab scandal in 2013 … but I believe retesting of her 2012 sample should carried out again (if physically possible)

    Was amazing and magical feeling.. returning back from school to watch summary of the day (summary at 4 pm local time due to time difference) you may guess now that olympics.. at that time no internet no live broadcast except few events Presenter’s sound was like from under sea .. since then I became addicted 😍

    May be a bit late but a quick introduction I am Ahmed Egyptian/ British.. really proud to be part of this community Mad about Olympics since I was 6 yrs (will let you guess which Olympics was that😜) thanks for the friendly atmosphere and looking forward to being a good team member

    will have to choose three athletes only between 5 weight categories they are dominating in women competition... just wondering what would be their selection criteria

    they can go with all (respecting athletes quota cap) ..of course difficult but theortically can do.
