I have some thoughts but could be totally wrong: Team sports (which is my favourite sports outside the Olympics) are the most boring sports in the program Spending 90 min watching two teams trying to finish a game 0/0 or watching 7 sports in the same duration (I’d go for the latter) Why IOC not adding to each program a sport which could add to the medal tally of the small nations, It would be more fair imho to get (for example) on the medal table Karate is a repeat of similar Martial arts Olympic sports, would it be more fair to have 2 out of karate, Taekwondo and Judo each Olympics and keep rotating? Kickboxing can be added too Similar for squash why not rotating with badminton and table tennis Breaking is not a sport with all respect, otherwise Salsa and Tango should be included Boxing, weightlifting and modern pentathlon are part of Olympic heritage, can’t believe they could be excluded (but each of them needs to work on some internal issues) Golf at Olympics, I would be surprised to see between each 100 persons one is watching it at Olympics!

Exactly, athletes quotas is the main concern, IOC wants to cap the entries but keeping unversality. my personal feeling that IOC doesn't care so much, revenue is important of course but just feeling bad for athletes in other sports who deserve to be olympians

When I am looking at the Olympic program I have a lot of questions regarding medal distribution between sports. As an example: Rowing has 14 medals, Canoeing 16 and sailing 10 (this group altogether 40 medals) While some other sports are having much less medals (Modern Pentathlon 2, Triathlon 3, and something like Weightlifting the quotas reduced to 10 medals only now) On the other hand some popular sports are fighting to get included each cycle like Cricket, squash, Karate and Baseball. Would it be more fair for wider audience to get some reasonable cuts from existing sports and include couple more as permanent By the way I don’t have any problems with Rowing, sailing etc, but I feel the allocated medal are a bit excessive compared to others.

Some general observations: still showing determined performance and still one of the top teams men and women great women team but the men team needs huge boosting just unlucky this tournament, still favourable for future world and Olympic medals the strongest men team so far, epic laser run between three team mates, women team is average no longer strong team, they will be in olympics but not that strong anymore a big question mark, very bad performance from great names, needs huge improvement and they have 1 year till the Olympics seems average team, can’t see them on the Olympic podium men team needs more fencing quality, women team is average very strong women team but consistency between displines needs improvement, men team is average not this Olympic I presume maybe the next one if MP still there 😉 very good team men and women, Mariana put too much effort in the first 800m laser run and she paid it in a hard way, still dangerous team if they keep their fencing performance up one of the strongest men and women teams, but if they are not 1st or 2nd before laser run they will not make the podium what do you reckon?

anybody knows what would be the format for Olympics? this is the schedule Date Event Time (ET) August 8 Men's Fencing Ranking Round Women's Fencing Ranking Round 5a-11:30a August 9 Men's Semifinal 7a-1p August 10 Women's Semifinals Men's Final 3:30a-9:30a 11a-1:30p August 11 Women's Final 5a-7:30a but Men semi final on IOC website is Fencing bonus round, swimming and riding ...(doesn't say if 18th would qualify to final or all 36) then final is Laser Run the day after!! ..how come this would help with the 90 min easy follow format ?? ..am I missing something?
