We have Bridge in the Asian games with events in pairs & teams : men’s , women’s & mixed category. actually won 1 🥇 & 2 🥉 at the last asian games. I am all in for Bridge

For the continental qualifiers is it one boat each gender for each NOC or overall only one boat for each NOC?

Both XD pairing are out in R32 . Manika/Sathiyan lost to the pair. Their high rankings in XD is not worthy of their performance here.

There you go, you got a sport(if at all it can be called a sport) in Olympics which most people haven’t got a clue about, including myself. I am not sure we would be even discussing Breaking if it was not part of the Olympics programme . Cricket in its new format (T20) will get a lot of traction , if included in the Olympics. Am not a Cricket fan but if given the choice I would much rather watch a T20 match of Cricket than a breaking session. Apart from the revenue it will generate for IOC & LOC. It will also help the sport become truly global with more countries taking the sport seriously. Well we will find out in 4 days time , if Cricket is included or not. But if USA wants to develop a cricket league in their country , Cricket inclusion will make sense for LA LOC .

has not sent a team too. Our Rowing federation had governance issues previously and most rowers are from our Army/navy . They want to concentrate on the Asian Games so decided against sending a team for world championships which offers quota places ! I guess they evaluated we don’t stand a chance to win a quota place in these world championships so better to concentrate on the Asian Games ( we are sending a full team) where we might win medals , possibly Gold as well.

Yes, if we can make the final and be the 2nd best team in Asia that will be an achievement and big boost to qualify from the team world qualifiers next year. But hey! Its sports so anything can happen

We are looking at around 108 athletes in each gender for a 6 team tournament. Say around 216 athletes for both genders, if its a 6 team tourney.

Team for asian shooting championships in Top 2 in each event will earn quota places ( 1/NOC)

It was more to do with FIFA not allocating a direct WC slot to Oceania, as a result had to qualify to WCs via playoffs against stronger South American/North American countries. Their football federation believed and rightly so, Aus has a better chance of qualifying through the AFC slot allocations. Ofcourse AFC offers better competition at both club & international level as compared to Oceania. Well for the 2026 expanded WC , FIFA has finally allocated a direct Slot for OFC.

Well if the LA 2028 LOC can only accommodate 1500m for rowing events ( it absolutely doesn’t make any sense both economically and socially to take the bridge down and then reconstruct it after the games) then world rowing needs to make a decision. They must for the next 4 year cycle do away with 2000m races & make it 1500m everywhere in order to familiarise athletes with the new changes. Many top athletes usually go for that final push in that last 500m which eventually decides many close races. It would be unfair on those top athletes if they had to loose out on 4 years of hard work just coz LA LOC cant come up with the full 2000m course & World rowing & IOC both agreed on it! If you have a problem, there needs to be a solution too!

Asian TT championships starting on 3rd Sep in Pyeongchang Quota places up for grabs in Teams ( Men & Women) & Mixed Doubles . Only winners qualify . In all probability it will be who will qualify teams in both men, women & mixed doubles. Interesting to see how we perform especially in mixed doubles where we are ranked 8th in the World.
