  5. I know. But having Egypt in your group pretty much guarantees you 3 points, which is a BIG boost towards your chances of making it towards the quarterfinals. I think 1 more point should do it.
  6. Serbia just beat us in 4, a couple of weeks ago… I’m not convinced, but Canada has advanced to the quarterfinals at the last two Olympics, hopefully we can do it again.
  7. You’re all going to get through to the quarterfinals either way though, because you have in your group Now, I wouldn’t underestimate them (played really well at the Olympic Qualifiers), but they’re by far the weakest team in the tournament. As far as goes, glad we didn’t get but unfortunately we drew the second toughest teams (from my/Canada’s perspective) in all groups, so not much of an improvement I would’ve been fine any one of Japan, Brazil, US, Argentina, or Egypt, but instead we get none.
  8. Canadian Olympic Trials Schedule (PST/EST) (I’ll do the rest tomorrow) Decathlon start lists aren’t out yet, but Warner will be competing in at least two events. Also, Staehli and Ellenwood are still on the entry lists, but that must be a mistake. Any notable youth athletes I should keep an eye out for, that I’m missing? Obviously they won’t qualify for Paris, but it’ll be good to keep my eye on names for the future. 9. @intoronto am I missing something, or is Matthew Uliana not competing? He’s our best youth prospect in men’s hammer throw, was over 70m last year.
  10. Olympic Trials start tomorrow Unfortunately, there’s no where to watch it for free, so I’ll probably be constantly refreshing the live results. https://live.athletics.ca/meets/36627 Here’s a link.

  15. Good news everyone! Today, my dad is finally coming home from the hospital! Still a long road to recovery (3-6 months approximately, could be shorter or longer), but super grateful that his condition has continued to improve these past few months. Just wanted to thank all of the Totallympians on here for all of the support within the last couple of months, some even sent me get well soon messages. I really appreciate it
  16. So we’d probably be with Cambodia?
  17. Jon Cooper (Tampa Bay Lightning) will coach in next year’s 4 Nations Face-Off! Hopefully he’ll select Tocchet as one of his assistant head coaches @Topicmaster1010
  18. Has it been confirmed whether it’s illness or injury, and if so what exactly it is?
  19. Apologies for all of the spam, but I thought I’d share these two incredible stories of newly qualified Olympian in the women’s 400m, Kendall Ellis, who PB’d in both the semifinals and finals en route to the US National title (49.99 PB previously, to 49.81, and now 49.46) In 2022, she had an anxiety attack before Worlds which left her paralyzed in bed. She went on to Worlds and placed 6th in her 1st round heat. But not only that, about an hour before her 400m semifinal at these US Olympic Trials, she was going to the bathroom, and the lock on the porta potty got jammed. She started panicking and banging on the door, yelling “HELP ME” and “BLOODY MARY” until a worker let her out 10 minutes later. Less than an hour later, she PB’d in her semifinal….
  20. Bruins have traded Linus Ullmark to the Senators, for Joonas Korpisalo, Mark Kastelic, and a 2024 1st round pick. Holy fleeced.
