Peto mesto za košarkašice. Na 2p su u suštini bile od polufinala ali imam utisak da je ekipa nespremno ušla u taj meč sa Mađaricama. U svakom slučaju to polufinale bi bilo verovatno to i medalju ne bi uzeli svakako. Tako da između 4. i 5. mesta i nema neke razlike. Ovo je definitivno naš maksimum. Jasno je da u Evropi imamo Belgiju, Francusku i Španiju trenutno na vrhu i da su svi ostali iza. Ulazimo u OI kvalifikacije, uz dobar žreb eto nas opet na OI što bi bio veliki uspeh. Samo mislim da smo sreću sa žrebom ispucali na prošlim kvalifikacijama. Dok god je Marina tu biće i ženske košarke kod nas. Vidim da se baš iscimala za taj projekat ženske sportske akademije i nadam se da će u dugom roku to biti neka njena zaostavština. Mada, strepnja mi je veća od nade.

I think that our chances are 50-50 for reaching top 6. So, I'm calculating that we need to win 2 games vs GB and one more. Didn't watch Italy much but watching our team I wouldn't consider us strong favorites against any team in the last 12. Yeah, probably we are slight favorites in both matches vs GB and Italy but it's more like 60-40 to me than let's say 80-20. Also, I think there's better chance of us losing any of those games than beating Belgium in QF.

Well, I've been writing since the start that Serbia isn't top quality any more, there was a change in generations in the team and we probably will never have that kind of team again. So, making to the top 6 would be a success but at this point I think it's 50-50 chance. Yeah, we could beat GB but we aren't clear cut favorites there and after that we take the L vs Belgium for sure, so probably Italy for the top 6. And again I don't see us as favorites there. We blew it up vs Hungary even though we could lose by 4 and had an easy draw for SF. But we played horribly wrong that match.

Prilično smo bezveze odigrali protiv Mađarica a falila nam je i Krajišnik. Crvendakić je isto van forme nažalost. Opet smo jako loše odigrali završnicu kad nam je trebalo 4 razlike i napadi su nam a i odbrana bili Bože me sačuvaj. Slušao sam taj poslednji tajmaut i znam šta je trebalo da se odigra ali sam video da su šanse da to prođe bile jako male, otvoren šut za Čađo za 3 je trebalo da bude.. Pritom se ona celo prvenstvo raspada, nije mi jasno da lopta ne ide na Crvendakić ili Nogić u tim situacijama. Elem, biće jako teško protiv VB. Njih ako dobijemo i uđemo u 7 opet će biti da se kaže ok rezultat. Protiv Belgije nemamo nikakve šanse. PS Mislim da su potcenile Mađarsku jako. Još jedna ogromna greška.

I wouldn't call Jokić an old school center because he does the thing old school centers did, but also much more than that. We never saw a player at that position with those kind of passes and court vision who can also start a fastbreak of rebound, push the ball and also play on the low post to score when his team need it. I mean he can play on low post, on high post, he can shoot, he can pass, his conditioning has gotten to a point where he can play regularly 40+mins. He's not top notch defender but he's big and has quick hands. My point being Jokićs won't grow on threes in the future but the game has involved in some sort of positionless basketball and I agree with the notion of few inches taller Larry Birds dominating. Look no further than Wembenyama who's going to be the next big thing for the NBA. Also, while I'm at it, this USA team for World Cup has a lucky draw because Canada and Brazil are in the same part of the bracket essentialy so it will be next to impossible to both those team reach QF. Without that luck USA would be in serious jeopardy of missing the Olympics. But it's not like they care.

The most likely scenario in that group still remains Spain finishing top of the group. Why would Latvia be considered better than Montenegro? We need to wait and see. Also, Hungary vs Serbia is much closer to 50-50 than comfortable Serbia win.

Ma završiće tu Španija prva u toj grupi verovatno pa bi taj scenario u kojem bi išli na Letoniju u stvari biti na Španiju. A i nikad nije dobro igrati dve utakmice umesto jedne za isti plasman ko god da su protivnici. Da mi dobijemo Mađarice i imamo solidan put do polufinala što bi nsm realno sa ovom ekipom bio uspeh. I imali bi šansu onda da izborimo i OI u zavisnosti od žreba što bi tek bio uspeh i nešto što nisam očekivao. Ali, korak po korak, prvo Mađarska. Nadam se da će Crvendakić biti u sastavu. Imala je smrtni slučaj i nije je bilo na ove 2 utakmice.

Najveći plus ove ekipe je Marina. Ona će ih izdrilovati i naterati da peglaju odbranu i presing i tako ćemo doći do nekih lakih poena iz tranzicije pa ćemo od mnogo prosečnosti uz malo sreće doći do nekog rezultata gde mislim da bi tih top 6 bio veliki uspeh. Da je neko drugi selektor tipa ko onda kad je bio Steva Paradajz ne bi verovatno ni grupu prošli. Mađarska igra odlično, nadogradili su ekipu iz mlađih kategorija, napravili recept za uspeh i mislim da će one biti veći protivnik od Turske za prvo mesto.

Jokić is at the moment the best player in the world, this year and this playoff run cements that. Giannis is a close second. Embiid, Curry and Durant are probably other players in top 5.
