Considering we already have so many athlete quotas I don't think our depth was deep enough to qualify 5-6 men or a 6th woman kayak athlete. It's a shame we couldn't get the men's C2 quota, but the C1 quota is a nice consolation prize.

She currently holds the last (non-continental) qualification spot, edging out Ireland's Darragh by 33 points. I don't know if either of them (or Hungary's Sandorhazi) are competing this week so it'll come to end. Additionally, she needs to hope New Zealand's Shaunna Li doesn't break into the top 250 (currently 259) or else she will get the continental quota (though if she did, New Zealand may decline the quota).

On the opposite side, Australia must select which two events between men's singles, women's singles, women's doubles and mixed doubles will get the continental quota, the others will be reallocated to the next highest ranked nation so even if Bulgaria gets passed she might get the quota if Australia doesn't choose women's singles.

The Olympic quota will be decided today, correct?

 Audrys Nin Reyes won a quota at the Pan-Am Games but from what I read that should be counted after the World Cup, which means he is still eligible for a World Cup quota and therefore his results should be counted in the ranking?  in this case  Olfati qualifies. but if they remove him from the ranking, then  Bacueti wins the quota

It's a bit of a mess. The way the document is written makes it seems that each criteria should be given priority over the following criteria, but at the same time the document doesn't explicitly say so (and usually they do) which means the quotas are awarded chronologically without any priority.

In a perfect world I would say points should count at the World Cup, but I think it won't. I don't have the rankings available, would he qualify through the world cup if his points counted?

Great day for China and India after a poor first day. North Korea also picks up three quotas, but still stings about losing the -50kg quota. They'll have a chance at the final world qualifier.

So the overall women's quotas going into the final world qualifier are as follows

Relative to 2020, Kazakhstan hasn't had much luck so far while Mongolia may go from having a full team to half the size.

It's still unofficial, but it only makes 2020 that much better.

Currently no men's freestyle quotas for China and India. In 2020 they qualified in three events each.

Not looking good for Australia.

Also a 90+14 goal in the Qatar/Jordan game (btw it was 2-1). Was there a lot of stoppage or were the refs waiting for Qatar to score

I'm also surprised, qualified athletes actually made the trip to Brazil. If there was a World Cup event in Brazil in the coming weeks it would be one thing, but now they need to fly back to Europe for events in May (or back to their home nation). Flying to South America is quite expensive.

Seems like a waste of money considering they have two more World Cup events to practice before the Olympics.

You are correct. However, does this adds another complexity, does the 49er, 49erFX & Nacra17 have eligible nations?

Going by this document they do, but they don't have athletes in the emerging nations program.

Hopefully, World Sailing provides more clarity soon.

They are both decided at the same event. The last chance quotas takes priority, then the emerging nations quotas are decided.

Yeah, unfortunately for these types of services, their model puts a lot of weight on the last world championships. For swimming so many people missed the 2024 edition (as expected) that the prediction is skewed. Since Australia depends on swimming for many of its medals, they are going to be severely underestimated in this model.

GraceNote would be better off to either combine the times of the last two championships or even disregard 2024 and only use 2023.

Iraq lost their opening match against Thailand so things aren't looking good for them.
