Japan participating in the universality tournament would be rather nonsensical, so I am glad they made it out of here.

Disagree. Curling tricked the IOC into including mixed doubles under the pretense of bringing universality. And then all the quotas were grabbed by the traditional powerhouses.

FIBA included a small provision to prevent exactly that. If there was something nonsensical in this system, then that would be the ranking points calculation.

I'm okay with a universality qualification tournament, but only if it was something like a 16-team tournament.

We should have won that game after being 4 points up against Japan, but the girls played extremely bad at the end.

 

I hope none of these women represent Spain again internationally. We have dozens of players better than these, so the federation should try to convince them to play 3x3.
