Could we actually see a medal for us in swimming??

She made the 6th best results of this year and this was not a “marked as a goal” competition, so the preparation was not at the best, so crossing fingers, the chances are good

Oh, I thought I read it would be decided here and due to Pilato finishing 3rd, she's most likely out :yikes:

Good news!

no, we already had our trials in December 2020 and in April this year...

Pilato qualified immediately in December, then in April Carraro and Castiglioni had a direct match up at the Spring Nationals and Carraro won it by a few hundreds of a second...

for Italy, this meet is not even qualifying for those who are still trying to get a ticket for Tokyo...the last chance event will be in Rome in a few weeks at the Settecolli meet...

she has to go around 2.08 "low" to get a medal...I don't know if she can really improve that much...:mumble:

That’s why I am crossing my fingers.. she managed to cut 2 sec in this competition so her progress is huge, I am optimistic but not expecting anything special for now

Question for Hungarian fans and other swimming fans as well. Considering her times at the European Championships, how well you think Hosszu will do at the Olympics? Would she able to improve her time that is good enough to win gold medals again?

No, extremely unlikely. In 2024 she could be a medal contender in multiple events.

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.
