When she changed her nationality, she forgot to do the same for her horse. https://www.eurodressage.com/2021/06/09/miloserdova-not-eligible-italian-olympic-ticket-due-wrong-owner-nationality The Italian federation is being so painfully transparent about all this. They declined to send anyone to the 2019 Europeans (also an Olympic qualification event), because none of their riders were "medal candidates". But now, after they received a cheap Olympic reallocation, suddenly they are happy to send anyone and at any cost. I guess some official will be getting a nice Tokyo trip. Since when horses need to have a citizenship?? :-D :-D :-D

And for the Olympics specially, the horses' ownerships must be the same as that of their riders. But this is only for the FEI database - the real ownerships are tracked elsewhere and are commonly tweaked to make some horse-rider partnerships eligible. What is funny in this case is that Tatiana Miloserdova is both a rider and an owner of her horse... But in one database she is listed as Italian, and in another as Russian, and therefore ineligible. She may have forgot to change the horse's nationality, but some appeal seems possible here. It's not her fault that FEI databases are not connected. #banbestmen

So, we will send Zaza or we lost the quota?

Truppa have some troubles with the federation, they hate each other and I think that there is still a judgment process. The federation put some money on her horse and she sold it, i think that we can discard the option. So, i guess that it will be Zaza-Maroni, but Zaza is the only one with a bit of international experience...

Day 1 results.. https://results.equestrian-hub.com/show/2623/dressage/34453 Lyle and Peters solidify their status as frontrunners, while Schut-Kery builds a strong case for herself. Wagman and LaGoy-Weltz will need to perform out of their skin on Day 2 to have any chance. #banbestmen
dcro 10,186 Posted June 14, 2021 Author #639 Share Posted June 14, 2021 So we have entered the last week of the MER period... And oh boy. New Zealand created a total chaos after withdrawing from dressage. Their quota got reallocated to Malaysia, but Qabil Ambak still lacks the confirmation score of 66% and will be rushing to Le Mans to get it. Should he fail, the quota will get reallocated to Singapore. Caroline Chew however also lacks the confirmation result and will compete in Le Mans too. Should she fail too, the quota goes to India, and guess what? Both Anush Agarwalla and Shruti Vora are in Le Mans going for their confirmation scores. This is all very last minute. All these riders (except Agarwalla) have been inactive for over a year, but now after NZ withdrew they are trying to pick up the pieces. All of them have achieved 66% in the past, but the question is whether they can do it on such short notice Should all of them fail, the quota will finally go to Hong Kong. Jacqueline Siu has her MERs in order, but hasn't competed in over a year... It is questionable whether she and her horse are ready to compete after such pause, but nevertheless, they would be allowed to go to Tokyo should Hong Kong receive a place. Also in Le Mans, Annabelle Collins will have one last chance to confirm MER aboard new horse. Should she fail, the quota goes to Venezuela (Patricia Ferrando lacks the confirmation result, but is in Le Mans as well), and if they fail, it will finally go to Chile (MER confirmed). Phew. #banbestmen
