Winter Olympic Games 2018 Medal Count

In terms of total medals, yeah Norway has it. All that's left is to see if it breaks the all-time record (which is likely). In terms of most gold there's a chance for Norway to fail, but they pretty much have to be limited to a couple of golds for the rest of the games which is also unlikely.

Breaking the all-time record doesn't mean much, it would make more sense to look at a medal/event ratio, because there were clearly less events in the past.

Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached.

True, but at the same time the Olympics were less competitive in the early years where Norway won 1/3 of the medals. We'd have to do some complex analysis for a fairer picture.

I think we can officially congratulate Norway for winning the medal table. There is no way in hell that Germany can still beat them and i don't really see any other country doing it, maybe Canada if they win 4 or 5 golds in ice hockey and curling?

I agree Norway is the favorite now to win medals table , but Germany still holds a chance even if it's not big , Canada won't likely dominate ice hockey and Curling , they may win women's hockey and men's curling
