What is this bullsh*t world we're living in? It's 2017 and we still hear things like this

Somebody should have told him that a woman had a better final score in the 10m air rifle in Rio (208.0) than the winner of the men's 10m air rifle competition (206.1).

its one of the funniest political things i have ever seen, i dont and i cant agree with this.......but i have a strong position of the freedom of speech, im against the people who want censure, attack judicially etc, if its a so bad what the people says, let them talk!!, its the best defense you have against them.

Obviously he should have the full right to say this (I mean, we can't say "we don't like your opinion so shut up"), but it doesn't make it any less stupid :d

In my country it isnt obvius many things, there are some opinions (very less polemicals than this) which provoke ALL the problems you can imagine, some months ago a singer sayed that some women have the fantasy to be "raped" and in that form they enjoy sex........he is without job since them and he is absolutly dissapear of the Media.

Freedom of speech means nobody should be persecuted physically or legally for his/her views. It does not mean people can't counter or ridicule him/her or boycott him/her.

I agree, i dont remember if the state in this case do something but in many cases is the state who pursue you if you says something "political incorrect", i dont choose the best example of my position but i use this because somebody remember this singer today.

    • This is going to have an effect on very likely 0 athletes, possibly 1 or 2 we don't really know about yet. It's really mostly the cheapest possible way for them to make a sort of political statement, without having any significant backlash since it won't really affect anyone at the top level of international sports.   Edit: worded a bit wrong, I was thrown off by everywhere 'trans women' being mentioned as the target of this. Of course there is also the somewhat larger category of DSD and the likes, which will certainly affect a few athletes - unfortunately they are often thrown under the bus or mentioned as 'not really women anyway' or something like that, despite, you know, being.
    • Mary Rand has died aged 86. The first British woman to win a Gold in track and field at the 1964 Tokyo Games (where she also took home a further two medals in the Women’s 4x100m relay and Pentathlon).
    • Athing Mu competed in the USA trials in 2024 and 2025 post the 2023 rule changes. She also won Gold in 2022 and Bronze in 2023.    Jelimo the jury is out. She doesn’t look male like the other two do.
    • People focus on trans people because it's easier to pinpoint the affected athletes. Meanwhile it's the athletes with (suspected) DSDs that will have tougher time to convince the authorities and the public opinion that they belong to women's sports.
    • badminton queen Carolina Marin announced that she can't take part into the home Europeans in the upcoming weeks because of her injured knee and calls it a career 😭
    • yes, there are (or there was, at least) don't forget that the women's 800m had world and olympic champions like Semenya, Jelimo and Nyonsaba...basically, it was 10 years of DSD winners only the same Athing Mu was suspected to be DSD (never confirmed, but somehow she totally disappeared after Tokyo) then, there were the 2 girls from Namibia (1 won a medal over 200m in Tokyo) in Italy we have the living scandal Valentina Petrillo (a paralympian!!!), who's actually a real man not to mention the weightlifter from who took part into the Tokyo Games so, it's a real problem all around the globe, not just a US crusade against a few woke idiots

    • With the MLB season getting underway and with the recent conclusion of the World Baseball Classic, here are the players on opening day rosters broken down by place of birth (including injured players):    United States: 694  Dominican Republic: 89  Venezuela: 60  Cuba: 20  Canada: 19  Japan: 14  Puerto Rico: 14  Mexico: 7  Panama: 5  Colombia: 3  Curacao: 3  South Korea: 3  Aruba: 1  Bahamas: 1  Germany: 1  Great Britain: 1  Honduras: 1  Italy: 1  Nicaragua: 1  Peru: 1  Taiwan: 1
