Ah yes, those magical last minute electronic vote swings from the always-last-to-declare leftist strongholds. They’re becoming quite the global phenomenon.

Ah yes, those magical super starts for the rightist populists, as if they're an F1 driver who started a minute before the lights went out. They're becoming quite the global phenomenon.

I'm in tears. The worst president I have witnessed in my life will finally be booted out of office. The race should not have been this close, but I am just relieved we will not have to stomach this despicable human being as our president for 4 more years.

This is fantastic. For me, I can sort of understand people who vote for Bolsonaro because they are strongly against Lula, or because they have their economic reasons or something. No way I would, but reasons like that I can kind of understand.

What I seriously can't understand though is people who vote for him because of ethical reasons, or his non-existent morals. I don't know enough to make a judgment on his economic agenda and stuff like that, but people who vote for him because of his morals and such? No thanks, I can't really think of a more despicable human being among significant politicians.

I would say most of his supporters don't really care about the economy, education, public health and such, but only his morals, since he is "pro-family" and has "christian values". A simple google search shows that he's not such things, but nothing he does will be able to convince his supporters otherwise. It's staggering that 58mi people voted for him, but I'm relieved that this nightmare had ended (for now...)

Too bad Tarcisio won the governor race in SP, both because he seems like an asshole (but granted, Haddad has the charisma of a used wet wipe), and because it gives Team Bolsonaro something to celebrate here :p

Bolsonaro allies have a lot to celebrate (biggest party in the chamber of deputies, about half of the state governors elected), it won't be an easy term for Lula.

Yeah, even if I was Christian, I wouldn't vote for this shit stain. I'm happy that most of the Christian Brazilians I know don't vote for this guy and are rather...disgusted by him using their faith for his gain :p

Oddly enough, one of my very few really close friends does vote for him. It's odd, because this person is genuinely a great human being who one would absolutely not associate with the awful values of a Bolsonaro, I was rather shocked to hear of their political preference. Comes to show that not every single person who votes for someone one doesn't like, is immediately a bad person...although it does give mixed feelings.

Not at all, I would say that although many of his followers are "extremists", I would like to believe there are also good people in the mix. But evangelicals in Brazil (about 80% votes for him) can't see anything past religion, which is sad.

As a fun fact, Bolso was heavily supported by Neymar in this election, who did multiple posts in social media and even appeared in a live feed of the president. Now people are joking that Neymar will never win something important (Ballon d'or, World Cup title, or the election).

    • Today maybe there was poor wax servic, but Auchentaller loses in every race at the end, when younger competitors: Grotian, Richard, etc. are already running much faster. Vittozzi is 29 years old but unfortunately she got injured in November - if she recovers, she will still have a big chance for medals. Unfortunately, Wierer can only be a complement to relay teams.
    • Could be the waxing on the last lap fresh snow. Auchentaller, Wierer & Trabucci all fell off on the last lap and basically had the slowest skiing time there? Overall though you have a problem, days of prime Wierer & Vittozzi won't be repeated soon but then I hear the same issues in alpine skiing where there is a huge gap behind Brignone & Bassino (the latter being 28 years old already). And someone claimed Colturi would have plateau'd if she stayed with the Italian federation as well.
    • Could not watch it, despite that I'm definitely not upset :)
    • I am rooting for Team Canada in Ice hockey and Team Austria in Ski jumping
    • Finally at least one condition suitable for the dog shit we wax
    • Slovakia returns to the podium for the first time since Oslo in March 2022. To find a podium in the mass start we even have to go back to Rupholding 2019, before the covid era
    • The truth is that the entire Italian biathlon depends on one Vittozzi, who is not sure if she will return this season and her form is also questionable, because the rest of the Italian team is running poorly. Wierer is old and will never win again - she is running weaker and weaker and what is worse: she is shooting poorly. The rest of our team is running too weakly to count on any successes in the future. I don`t believe that Auchentaller or Comola will suddenly make a big progress in the run track, e.g. to the top 10, since the young French women are already much faster than them.
    • Auchentaller runs poorly, and her last rounds are awful - generally all Italian women have a problem with fitness and this is probably the problem of poor preparation before the season. If you don't run in the top 10, you can forget about successes apart from one individual race. Wierer and Vittozzi always ran in the top 10 during their prime. I don't see such potential in Auchentaller. Generally, both in biathlon and cross-country skiing Italian teams aren`t able to train a few good runners for many years and this is probably a systemic problem - look at France, for example: how many good runners have they been able to train in biathlon in recent years...
    • First winter podium for Slovakia! Amazing. Nice to see us finally on the podium this winter. Feels like a good step forward for biathlon here, hopefully, a sign of better things to come. Solid result, let’s hope for more like this.
